EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITY

NAME OF EVENT : Adopt - A Kid: Kids Day-out

VENUE : Ayala Malls Legazpi, Legazpi City
DATE : December 11, 2016
Together with the Team Albay Youth Organization, the Chemical Science Society and all
the other organizations under TAYO spearheaded an event with regards to the community
extension and activities. They gathered children, 4 12 y/o to bring happiness and joy. The
facilitators were assigned to different tasks and committees like food, games and preparation.
They also gave gifts to the children and conduct a story-telling and parlor games. The main
purpose of the event is to give happiness and reach out to the children of Legazpi City.

MEMBERSHIP PARTICIPATION

The chairman and other members of the activity divided the tasks to different committees and
tasks. Other members help in the arrangement and preparation in the venue and others went with
Miss Gray in the event proper in controlling the children and the people in the venue.

BENEFIT TO THE ORGANIZATION

The said event enhanced the leadership skills and the community involvement of the members to
facilitate and implement activities for the benefit of the members of the organization. This also
trained every member of the organization of their line of duty during the event. The event also
opens up for community-based activities that enabled BU Chess to extend their help to this kind
of institution.

VALUE TO ORGANIZATION

For the organization, this is not just a minor activity because any activity that will give
contributions and provide an avenue for the students to enhance their skills is very valuable for
the organization. It gave benefit to the organization by motivating the members to continue
pursuing activities such as this. The event also gives rise to an extension of help and works to the
community. The scope then of how the organization works is not cornered on the walls of the
university but is brought outside, extended to the community. And this is also a venue for the
members to enhance their communication skills and value to the community
 GENERAL PLANNING, EXECUTION AND FINANCE

The project had been planned and thoroughly discussed among members of the organization and
with the Team Albay Youth Organization through meetings. The discussion included the
execution and financing of the project. The chairman of TAYO handled the finances after the
budgetary proposal was approved by the treasurer and the president then announced to the
CheSS members. The members assigned in the event headed the event proper.
