EXPERIENCES AS A PHYSICAL SCIENCE TEACHER

As part of our revised new B.Ed curriculum there was a 3

month school internship programme. School internship is part of professional
development. Its easy to characterize an internship as a learning experience.
It took a little more work to figure out what were the positive and negative
elements of the experience.

By understanding our school preferences, I was really do a

better selection.Ebenezer H.S.S, Veettor, the best school in the Muvattupuzha
educational district was selected by me. It was such a wonderful platform for
me. The teacher gave full freedom to take classes according to my interest and
preferences. I do my best to teach in a better way.

There were 6 other student teachers with me. They were from
different pedagogys. But we work as one heart. That was our strength there.
The whole works and duties were shared among us. No one was reluctant to do
any work. We had to assist office staff in administrative session, arrange library
books, enter issue numbers and even wrote letter to DEO, as per the staff
instruction.

All these helped us to know about the functioning of a school

very well. Being a role student teacher from physical science pedagogy, I would
to handle two classes 8th and 9th standard. It gave me a lot of experiences. I
could experience the difference in classroom situation. I had got subject matter
interested for me to both classes. But the two classes challenged me in some
ways scheduling of the period was the first problem. The second was the
limited time for preparation along with the works has to do as part of our
curriculum.

But I am proud of myself that, I could able to manage these

both well. I completed my work on time and completed my portions, made
revisions, achievement test, diagnostic test and remedial classes if needed. I had
a self satisfaction what I have done.

But what made me little disappointed is the problem with one

of my pupil. He was the case for my case study. One day he made an action to
hurt himself with blade. I was frightened. But I was able to manage myself and
the whole class. I immediately inform this to the authorities. They took him to
the office room and called the parents to the school. I then regularly watched
him and I was able to make a good relationship with him. I was just a friend to
him. I could identify his behavioral changes when I treated him as my friend.
That was the only bad experience from the school.

In teaching, there is learning and in learning, there is teaching. I

will do my best to identify my mistakes and be a perfect teacher.
