In America, a space exists between the isolated individual and

the overwhelming state. This spacecreated by our coopera-
tive culture and protected by our constitutional lawis where
Americans have always been free to come together as equals.
The governments role is not to direct our interactions within
this space, but to ensure that all Americans have equal access
to it, and equal opportunity within it.

As a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Lee

is committed to fighting for all Americansregardless of race,
religion, gender, or incometo ensure that all are given equal

PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH
Senator Lee believes that two of the highest priorities of the United States government are to provide security from
external threats and to promote American economic interests so U.S. citizens can exercise our freedoms and rights
in peace.

As a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) for the fourth year, Senator Lee was a leading partic-
ipant in debates and discussions surrounding the governments response to national security threats, military organiza-
tional and acquisitions reform, and personnel policy changes. Serving on the Airland, Strategic Forces, and Readiness
Subcommittees, Senator Lee was able to successfully address concerns to our national security and continue to
ensure that the relationship between Utah and our nations military will remain strong for decades to come.

THE LAUDABLE PURSUIT

In his second term in the United States Senate, Senator Lee will to continue to pursue one of his most important
goals from his first term in the Senate: finding opportunities to build coalitions with members from both sides of
the Capitol and both sides of the aisle in order to advance a positive reform agenda that puts Washington back to
work for the American people and fixes broken government programs. One such opportunity is his role as Chair-
man of the Senate Steering Committee, a position to which Senator Lee was elected at the end of 2014.

The Steering Committee is unique. Unlike other congressional committees designed to develop legislation in just one
policy area, the purpose of the Steering Committee is to help shape the debate on all legislative issues and to make
sure that conservative principles are informing the policymaking process every step of the way.

As part of his directive as Chairman of the

nation today. Senator Lee invites you to
sign up for the Laudable Pursuit and join
him in spreading the message. Because if
we want to bring change to Washington
if we want to fix broken government
and bring the American dream back
within reach of hardworking families
across the nation then we need to work
together to spread the positive message
of conservative reform.
