Head of School Survey

Designed by Aspiring School Heads Fellows
National Association of Independent Schools

Dear Head of School:

We are members of the 2016-2017 NAIS Aspiring Heads Fellowship, and as part of our
fellowship we are conducting an action research project to be presented at the NAIS annual
conference. Our cohort, which is being mentored by Melissa Soderberg of Columbus Academy,
is seeking your participation in a survey to partner with us in this important research study.
The survey results will help to deepen our understanding of the varying degrees of institutional
import, impact on and commitment to multicultural programs or professional development
opportunities within independent schools across the country.

We know that it is easy to feel overwhelmed and have little time to spare for anything except
the most important matters within your school. We hope that contributing in this meaningful
way to our industry will feel important to you. Our brief 20-question survey should take no
more than 10 minutes to complete and we would appreciate it if you could complete the survey
no later than December 30, 2016.

We thank you for your participation and are so grateful that you are willing to be a part of this
ambitious undertaking.

Your responses will be confidential, so please be candid. (Survey results will not be reported in
any form that could identify an individual.) Your participation is very important and greatly
appreciated!

If you have questions about this survey, or encounter difficulties in completing it, please contact
Corey Wrinn, Choate Director of Institutional Research, at cwrinn@choate.edu.
