What do you think about the education crisis all around

the world?
2/3 One of major concerns of the world is lack of education. Like
us, some children do get educated but some dont. Some get
basic education, some get secondary educationand some
dont even get education, this is what this question is about.
According to build On, which is an organization that fights the
education crisis and try to get rid of illiteracy and poverty tells us
57 primary school children are out of school, 49% will never
attend school and 2/3 of illiterate adults are female 1. This is what I
think about the education crisis all around the world. Build On also
tells us that worldwide at least 900 million people are illiterate, 57
million primary school age children are not even in school.49%
will never attend school and 774 million adults are illiterate and
2/3 of illiterate adults are female.1

Reasons for children missing out on quality education:

Getting to school means walking long distances.

Many kids learn in dark, crumbling huts open to extreme
weather.
Among not attending school there are 2x more girls than
boys.
Many children in the developing world must help support
their families.

unicef and wants to put every child in school
info graphics tell us that the poorest children
in conflict countries are twice as more likely
to be out of school than the poorest
somewhere else. It also tells us that girls are
almost two and a half times more likely to be

out of school if they live in a country somewhere else. It also tells

us that teenage girls are almost 90% to be more likely to be out of
secondary school than young women elsewhere. 2This infografic
tells us that there are so many illiterate children and primary
school children in the world and so less graduated children.

Ungei is an organization which works to convince people

to educate their children and that they work to stop the
education crisis so Ungei tells us this: Violence: (girls
mostly) can include

Bullying
Corporal punishment
Girls rights
Figure 2.
And Ungei also tells:

What can be done?

Promote gender equality and non-

violence in teaching practice.
Strengthens links between
schools and homes.
Tell the teachers and the public to
create solutions3

This infografic tells us about the

percentage of literate and illiterate female and male. UNESCO
tells us that Teachers are the most important factor in learning
but overcrowded classes and a lack of relevant materials can also
defeat the goal of making every child educated. 4

YouTube which is a video sharing website tells us this:

Global perspective
Figure Mercury.ethz.ch which is a website which gives us

access to read useful pdfs tells us the Crisis in South
Sudan:

In south Sudan fewer than 200 of the 1600 schools in south

Sudan have permanent buildings. Most classrooms only have
a board and a chalk.5

Crisis in Nepal:
In Nepal the reason
of children not
educated is that
there is an increase

of teachers which is good but because of that classrooms are

too large and because of that children dont get much
attention and then the parents think that because of this
their children shouldnt go to school simply and help their
parents with house work. 6This infografic tells us the not
attendance rate percentage
UNICEF tells us the Crisis in Niger:
Niger is one of the countries which is affected by the food
crisis which affects in the education crisis. In Niger nearly 5.5
million people, whose half are children, dont have the right
to eat food. The literacy rate for Niger is 19.1%!!!!7
UNICEF tells us the Crisis in Mali:
In Mali there is a lot of confusion for the education of
700,000 children in
Figure 5. Mali. There are almost 200,000
children with no access to school.
The
Literacy rate for Mali is 38.7%.8
UNICEF tells us the Crisis in
Central African Republic:
About 65 percent of schools were
looted, damaged by bullets and
Because of that almost 280,000 primary school children
dropped out of School. In Bangui there is serious threats
on schools. The literacy rate of the Central African Republic is
36.8%.9

Dawn which is a Pakistani

newspaper tells us that Pakistan
has one of the lowest literacy rates
in the world, especially for women.
Girls in the rural areas face many
problems. The main problem from
all problems is education. Over
the years, Pakistan has focused on
defense a lot but it has not focused
on the education sector which is the most important. Our
constitution says: The state of Pakistan shall remove literacy and
provide free and compulsory secondary education with in the
minimum possible period. But this goal has not been properly
accomplished. This infografic tells us the literacy in Pakistan
which includes total literacy, male literacy, and female literacy.

The human development report places Pakistan at the 136

position or just 49.90 PC of its population is education. The
education rate in Pakistan is 33.80 PC for females and 47.18 PC
Figure for males. This shows that people in the 6 th
7. largest populated country do not give much
attention to education.10

Alif aliaan which is an organization

which has been working for education in
Pakistan since 2003 tells us that In Pakistan,
of those children who do go to school, the
majority of them receive an education of
poor quality. In Pakistan, the main reason of children not going to
school is budget. For some families funds that are available are
not spent effectively.11This infografic tells us the literacy among
people aged 15 and above. And more is for men.

How can this problem get worse?

Benefits of education and training which has opened up a

university tells us that If the education crisis gets worse then
there would be lesser job opportunities which would lead to
lesser people getting employed and that would result in
businesses closing down.12
If the education crisis gets worse then if people dont get
educated, there wont be good governors/politicians and
because of that, the whole world will be a very big war and
itll be very hard to live a happy life.
If children dont get educated then when they grow up and
they will not be educated then more terrorists etc. will come
to the nation and kill all the people and the people won't
know what to do when they come so they will just die and
affect the public.

Solutions

YouTube tells us that Over the years there should be basic

education for all and the government needs to start focusing
on funds for poor people so they can start educating their
children.14
YouTube tells us that We need to make educational programs
online so that kids everywhere can go online to learn for a
very cheap price and get a good education. 13
Well have to paste posters everywhere and tell the public to
work more hard and fight for childrens education.

Personal perspective

The way I think is that the world wont be fixed from

the education crisis even if we go according to these solutions.
Yes, some parts of the world could be fixed but theres not that
much chance. I think we should be more focused on education, for
the growth of our country/Pakistan and not just Pakistan, the
Name: Sakina batool

whole wide world should focus on educating people, either there

poor or rich. My point of view is also that our nation should not
get so focused on defense I mean yes they should of course but
get more focused on education. Because if they dont then they
there won't be people who import defenses and people who
participate in the army.
