Voltage selection scheme checks.

We dont have BUS VT , As VTs are not provided for monitoring the Bus Voltages, a
separate LV scheme (Voltage Selection Scheme) is utilized to display BB voltages in
the HMI/SCADA and also for making proper selection of bus bar voltage by making
use of line VTs secondary for sync closing.

Selection of a particular line voltage as the respective busbar voltage is

accomplished in accordance with the connection of busbar disconnector & CB to the
respective busbar. Interposing VTs with 1:1 ratio is also inserted in VT secondary
circuit for electrical isolation of VT secondary . The scheme is designed to get proper
selection of busbar voltage(running voltage) depending upon the switching of a
particular disconnector-CB combination.

The Dead bus and Dead line connection are special cases. In this case, connection
is made depending on the configuration under the following conditions:
dead line
Vb.b> Vmin , VLine < V dead , fmin < fbb< fmax
Dead bus :
Vline > vmin , Vbb< Vdead , fmin< fbb< fmax
Dead line dead bus :
Vline < vdead , Vbb < vdead

(whereby the
individual reference voltage depends on the isolator position)

Voltage application If the voltage application is used, the user must set a switching sequence with
the following
components:
Voltage application
Synchronisation
voltage deselection

WE USE THE RUNNING VOLTAGE AS BB VOLTAGE

Maximum allowed induced voltage in the non-energized bus
should be

: 5 V (VT secondary)

Full interlocking, dead line or dead busbar check and synchronizing check using
conventional

voltage selection scheme, shall be an integrated function of the Distributed Bay

Control Units

(BCUs). For synchro-check function, parameters such as %age voltage difference

between running

(busbar) and incoming (line) voltage, phase angle diff between and frequency diff,
blocking

voltage range, null voltage %age etc. should be possible to preset independently.
Under frequency

load shedding setting and stage selection and time delay for each stage should also
be an

integrated function of all BCUs.

1- Collecting data, from pervious project and bench marking .

2- Alternatives evaluation / technical discussion
3- Quality function deployment .( QFD helps transform customer needs (the voice of the
customer [VOC]) into engineering characteristics (and appropriate test methods) / cost
evolution .
4- Finalization .
