1. State Stokes theorem.


2. How is the unit vectors defined in cylindrical coordinate systems?

4. Electric field is conservative field. Justify.
5. What is the point form of Amperes circuital law?
6. Determine the force per unit length between two long parallel wires separated by
5cm in air and carrying currents of 40 A in the same direction.
7. Distinguish between transformer emf and motional emf.
8. What is displacement current density?
9. Find the velocity of a plane wave in a lossless medium having a relative
permittivity of 5 and relative permeability of unity.
10. What is standing wave ratio?

12. a) i) Find the potential at any point along the axis of a uniformly charged disc

ii) A parallel plate capacitor with a separation of d=1 cm has 29KV applied
when free space is the only dielectric. Assume air has a dielectric strength of 30
KV/cm. Show why the air breaks down when a thin piece of glass ( r=6.5) with
a dielectric strength of 290KV/cm and thickness d 2 = 0.2cm is inserted. (8)

carrying conductors. (8)
