The Brief

Over the course of last year you produced some very competent video work which has demonstrated understanding of
particular media forms such as advertisements and documentary shorts. For this assignment, however, you will be focussing
on the different ways that you can produce a media product in regards to the camera set-up.

In this assignment we will look at differences between shooting with a single camera and multiple cameras. We will compare
the efficiency and practicality of each whilst using the scripts produced in the previous unit to demonstrate those
differences. You will spend time looking at how to set up each shot and also the time and effort involved in composing the
mise-en-scene and lighting and ensuring you have the coverage to edit the project successfully.

This assignment will also be a chance for you to demonstrate your capabilities to lead a team; the production management
unit will provide you with the opportunity to take the reigns on a project and prove that you are able to overcome any
obstacle. In addition to demonstrating your leadership skills you will also be required to swap roles and work under a peer;
you will need to show that you are able to take direction as well as direct others.

To meet grading criteria for this assignment you must:

Produce a report detailing the features and purposes of single camera productions (U22: GC1)
Research and plan an original single camera production. You may edit, amend and use materials
gathered for the previous screenwriting unit (U4: GC1 and U22: GC2)
Pitch your proposal for an original single camera production (U4: GC2)
Produce an original single camera production (U22: GC3)
Manage a single camera production (Unit 4: GC3)
