The Memorial

Do you ever know about life in the deep ocean? In fact, humans do not know any about

them. Even though, they claimed for it for a long time. However, in the deep deep seabed, there

are lots of unknown aquatic animals.

Have you ever heard about the legend called Mermaid? Some of you might think that it just

a myth in some of the village or a folk for children. Have you ever imagine that it become true

Near the Aomori shore, Sanriku coast, there is a small group of living things dive up from

the turquoise water surface. Their upper body part look like a female and the lower part look like a

fish tail. They swim until they reach the reef near the land.

Mizu, you need to attentive in your study. One of them said while taping on her shoulder.

After they have a farewell, small group of brilliant scale submerge into the water and

eventually fade away from the young teenager girl.

As the splashing wave lead the wind breeze to the shore, loaded of small little creatures

The girl with glitter pastel pink dress walk gradually along the shore. She suddenly think

that she need to find a accommodation before evening.

At the corner of the street, there is the small Japanese style homestay. The house is mostly

made of wood like others Japanese houses. Typically, the door is sliding and also has two windows

near it.

There is a old lady waiting there in front of the house. The old girl wears a old dark dress

which the left side of it wrapped over the right side and it ties with obi sash which tied into a bow at

the back.

guiding to her room. It is the small room, in the corner of the house. Inside, there is a single bed on

one side and one small writing dress on the other side of the room. She go to sit on the small fluffy

mattress and start muddily.

She does not sure about the origin of it but there is a tale that pass on by word of mouth. A Long

time ago, there was a young little mermaid came to live in human land and had love with the

mariner. Not long after that the girl became pregnant and gave birth but the infant had a weird

appearance from other human. The girl and her son became a monster in human sight and were

expelled from the village. The human created the rumour that the mermaid was a threatening thing

of mankind and started to chase these poor meadow and baby. She tried to escape to the ocean but

before she can dove into it, the most cruel creature on Earth had shot both of them with the long

rifle. Bang! Bang! Bang!

However, there is a case that the mermaids in love with the humans and do not want to go

back to their homeland. In Ningyo book, it was written that if any mermaids, no matter which clan

they came from, defy the rule their memories will be deleted. According to the law, the poor

mermaids will lose a ability to rush over the vast sea forever.

The shining of the enormous star with the clearing up sky break through the window of the

room. She pulls the curtain up and prepares to go to Yama Gakkou. It located on the mountain at

the back of Aomori city. This high school is where most of the mermaids come to study at human

land.

Ding! Ding! Ding! As the bell tinkle, light wispy leaves flutter come along with high gasp.

Palm moist with the thin paper. Run run run, she does not expect that going to school will cause

much time as this. She blame herself for her low responsibility. As she read the paper, class 1A is

her room.

At the room, there are about twenty students. The teacher let all of the students introduce

themselves in front of the class.

Ohaiyou! everyone I am Kento. One of the student said.

He is the young teenager boy with dark brown hairs, large hazel eyes and his nose is

prominent like European people. His eyes seem like a twinkle stars up on the sky. There is

something special in this person she thought.

On Japanese traditional culture class, the teacher teach how to wear a kimono. The Japanese

dress with wide sleeve.

Mizu can you pick up that obi to me? He said.

Oh! of cause. She replies.

Thumb! Thumb! Thump! Rise up the hot chilly face of the person that been called. This

emotion never happen to her before. What is it, she thought.

Dark violet kimono with an obi, colourful sash, ties over. Ornamenting with pink and white

Cherry Blossom. Outside of its, a Geta sandals.

Such adorable. Words drift along the air.

Immediately, she turns to the source and eludes from that sparkling eyes which now staring

on her still. Off the hook, as the teacher instructs us for the next activity. Ikebana, Japanese flower

Three months later. At the end of the day before hundreds of student disperse, one of her

classmate called her for the students conference. Along the corridor, she wondering why they just

Mizu, class 1A please comes to the principal room please. It say repeatedly for three time.

Knock! Knock! and walk inside the room. The elder woman standing behind the large

convenient chair. After she arrives, the most authoritarian turn toward her and stare for a while.

Mizu, you know. You know everything but why you just break our law. Deliberate but

powerful voice says.

Anxiety, nervous, and panic. She says nothing, only stand and listen.

I see all of it from the start and soon to the end. From Now on, I will give you a chance to

reconsider. This is the warning, choose the best one and everything will be fine. She continues to

say.

She leaves the room with the most painful honest feeling. Tear drop from drop to drops

while blame herself why dare she breaks the rule. Then inside the chemistry room, she try to calm

herself down and think over what she should do next. Because of fatigue, her conscious gradually

float away.

At the evening of that day, she determine to tell the truth to Kento. She looking for him

around the school and suddenly she see him sitting alone under the tree.

Where are you? I have find you for many hours. He scurries.

Nothing have come out from her little lip. She then hold his shirttail and walk ahead to the

deep blue square which the water shine because of the sun reflection. She stops, waits for awhile

and start to speak.

Kento I have something to tell you Then she leap into the blue water.

The emerald sparkling scales appear under the water and then the azure blue hairs emerge

from it. She is extremely nervous. What will he thinks?, what will he says?, and what he will do?

This questions come up all the time.

He was shocked and suddenly back to normal. He goes to sit on the edge of the pool and

calls Mizu. After she come next to him, he hold her shoulder tightly without any words. Then pulls

her up and embraces. Soon later, Mizu slowly touch Kento face and cover his lip with her lip.

Sorry Kento she thought in her head.
