4. DISCUSION

DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF EEG PORTABLE SYSTEM
PEP8
ABSTRACT
PEP8 is a portable digital system of EEG, developed to get a greater quantifying of information in the diagnostic of
neurologic abnormalities, mainly, Epilepsy. PEP8 hass three main units: Acquisition, pre-processing and information
transmission unit and visualization and posprocessing signals unit. These units were building in agreement whit medical and
engineering basis, using very best quality elements. The signals Adquisition phase, is made up by electrodes and a
connector that allows the connection with the pre-processing unit. This unit improves and digitalizes the EEG signals, in
order to transmit to their further digital processing. The visualization and postprocessing unit, is formed by a specific
software developed under Labview (Graphic Programming System). This software, allows the reconstruction of analog
signals from their discret samples, for the appeartaining digital processing.
