A typical case ...
Two days ago I was spoiling the machine, and just I have no money to buy new clo
thes ... I accumulate and my wife not to give me the anger to do something ... W
hat do I do?
That is the question that many people do when faced with a broken washing machin
e.
The repair is possible if a technician does, but we are talking about 100 euros,
and we all know that today a cheap washing machine will cost about 250 euros ..
. so the dilemma is served.
"Repair or buy new? If you do not have money, but you have time, and some tools,
and do not mind trying to repair your own washing machine, then take risks. Pri
nt this tutorial, follow these simple instructions, and hopefully maybe get your
dishwasher repaired without having to buy a new one or pay a technician to repa
ir it. Buy a new one if you have money, but if you can not try. Repair it yourse
lf.
What I can win and lose? The most you will lose the washer, which is already bro
ken, but if you risk what you can win is to save a $ 100 repair and learn how to
repair a typical and very common failure of domestic washing machines. In addit
ion to learning to do something useful for your home, your wife will thank you t
o break lavadita and neat, with a good dinner, and that you will be saving a lot
of good work.

PRECAUTIONS
Before you start to repair your washing machine, there are some things to do. We
call them safety precautions. Nothing is without risk. A power washer works wit
h. All that work with electric voltage is always something electric charge accum
ulated on somewhere, especially in the charging capacitor, used to start the was
her.
Naturally, the machine will be connected to the mains. Nobody in their right min
d would dare to repair a washing machine while it is plugged into an electrical
outlet. As if that ignores the host of current that could shake the body is 220
V (volts) although everything depends on the isolation, because if you do land o
n the chassis of the washing machine and the ground is wet, and if the not well
insulated footwear Ground current left him well fried. Therefore, do crazy thing
s and unplug the power washer. The photo of the object with two blades is always
charging capacitor stores some votaje.
You should also close the tap water inlet, which connects to the machine so that
the drink water supply network. First turn off the faucet. And then slowly unsc
rew the cuff. A good trick is to place a towel over the plastic nut that is scre
wed to the tap water intake, because when you unscrew the pressure of the pipeli
ne will spring a good blast of water that will spill. So we use a towel to cover
the tap, just to keep us mojemos.

Have some rags or old towels with which collect excess water which is possibly a
ccumulated in the rubber hose from the wall of water, and wet soil. Remove the d
rain hose washing machine drain. The washers need to empty the water and make it
through a tube. The water will be in the washer drum exit through that tube, an
d possibly a flood event momentarily. Do not panic, it's normal to catch the wat
er. You can try pouring it into a small bucket with some luck, but of entry, I w
arn you that there are always traces of this water, so a towel or old blanket wi
ll be your best solution so that water does not spread across the floor from hom
e.

TOOLS
To repair a washing machine, do not really need too many tools, although some th
at are often basic and within reach of anyone. I know some will disagree on my s
tatement, some techniques angry, but in this case forget the technician and the
tools of the picture, enough to make the repair. If you have more tools, conside
r a lucky, because in a normal home environment not only tools,€and at most a pa
ir of scissors and a knife. The driver of this picture is of those two points, y
ou can extract it and use it as a normal star or screwdriver.

WORK SPACE
To make the repair before clearing all that could be a hazard or nuisance, or co
uld prevent you to work comfortably. If you can, remove the washer from its plac
e and take it to a bigger place. Can not you imagine what agonizing it is to wor
k in small spaces, crouching, or taking very bad posture or body positions. But
if you are from those who like to make the male sweat and suffering, forget this
advice, as he works out of the balls. But then I can not complain of lumbago, o
r sore knees, sore throats or forced members. Remember, you are repairing a wash
ing machine is not making love to a machine. So make yourself comfortable job we
ll. To work well, works best working poor. Find something that will cushion unde
r the knees, and if you can work upright. Do not be macho and take my advice.

REPAIR
STEP 1: First and foremost, if a machine does not work, can be many things, but
in this case, identifying the failure mode is seen in the photo (Photo1). The ma
chine empties the water, not spin, and remains of dirty water and soap inside th
e washer drum.

niaticos.blogspot.com
STEP 2: Take the washer, and tilt. Do always on the side of the cargo box of det
ergent (Fig. 2), because if there is some water that will come out there. But if
you do the opposite side, ie the machine turns on the side of the Task Schedule
r, where you select the washing process, it may finally damage the washer. The r
emaining water could seep selector washed, and then you would no longer have a p
roblem but two, and possibly one that would leave your washing machine unusable.

STEP 3: Now we must turn it over to the washer (Photo3), for where we make the o
perations, is a place that is more accessible in this position. If you can not t
urn it over to the washing machine, think you have to work crouching or kneeling
, and is a bad position as he got tired very quickly.

STEP 4: We will locate the point where the fault occurs. This is a very common f
ailure. It is the water pump. The water pump is what allows the washer to fill w
ith water, and also empty. If this device fails, the washing process could not b
e completed properly or does not occur. The red arrow (Figure 4) marks the place
where the subject and just enough to unscrew two screws. If you have a wrench u
se it, but if not, use some clamps.
PHOTO 4

niaticos.blogspot.com
STEP 5: Well, now that we know where is located the fault, we can begin to loose
n and remove screws (Photo5) to release the water pump location. If the screws a
re not too tight enough with a simple clamp but are strongly bolted, it will be
necessary to use a wrench, or a fixed rate from 1910 to 1911. Should be careful,
especially when it comes to old washing machines, a few years. Since areas of l
ow rust and a cut could give any problems, you have to have a little patience in
handling and in no hurry.

STEP 6: When we unscrewed the water pump, we see that this still is not released
. This subject of several hoses and hoses in addition to its electrical cable. T
hese rubber hoses and plastic sleeves are attached to the pump by a metal clamp
that can be reversed by elastic pressure, and head of the screw feed. Inverted p
ressure clamps need to be open as shown in the picture (Photo6) and can occur as
necessary to release some force. During this operation must take some care not
to pinch or accidentally bite the rubber, and the same with the sleeves. That wo
uld be another problem added to that already now have in hand.

STEP 7: As common connection pipe between the water pump and tube (Photo7), usua
lly remains very strong to be stuck because over the years and the flow of waste
water and soap. Be careful with the pulls, and special care with the release by
surprise, since a loose tube surprise that his hands could do crashing metal pa
rts, some of which could cut the skin. These tubes tend to stick and when I appl
y pressure to release it free by surprise and you injure your hands. Very carefu
l with this, which I know from personal experience.

STEP 8: Once released into the tube-this should be done with extreme care, the f
ollowing is to release the clamp screw holding the hose. Do not rush. Slowly. Ob
served everything you see in detail (Figure 8) and without haste. You have to lo
ok for if you notice anything unusual. Notice in the photo, as the red arrow ind
icates that there is something inside of the pump.
FIGURE 8

STEP 9: Unscrew the hose slowly, careful not to puncture the hose with a screwdr
iver (Figura9), pausing if necessary, to maintain the tone of strength.

STEP 10: Once we have released the rubber hose, we inspect the inside of the tur
bine pump. Because we have removed the hose can see that, in effect, (Figure 10)
there are objects that seem to prevent the turbine to rotate and pump the clean
water loaded the washer, and emptying the dirty water.
FIGURE 10
16
Repair Your Washing Machine Copyright © 2009 by Norbert R. Ibañez http://informa
niaticos.blogspot.com
STEP 11: As you can see in the picture 11 (Figure 11) the problem of malfunction
ing of the machine was produced because the interior of the propeller turbine wa
ter pump, had housed some objects, such is the case a button, in other cases are
coins, other are matches, sticks, balls, and n general, any type of object that
you left inside pocket of his trousers or shirts, and that during the first was
h, they end up at the pump water. Inside there is also a bundle of wool, thread,
twine, and sometimes human or animal hair.
PHOTO 11

niaticos.blogspot.com
STEP 12: We are still investigating, no hurry. Sometimes it will be necessary to
use a small flashlight to illuminate dark corners and cavities, so that we can
see the most hidden areas and detect most foreign bodies (Figure 12) in pipes or
in other parts of the pumping system. Here we see that apart from meeting a but
ton on the circuit pump, added to this object is a ball of fur, threads, fibers
and debris which had formed a ball that held back the water pump. This to get ho
t and not rotating, so the washer will not fill or empty the water.
PHOTO 12
18

niaticos.blogspot.com
STEP 13: From experience I know that when there are objects blocking the water p
ump, also may be other hidden in the rest of the circuit (Figure 13) as before d
eclaring victory, we must review each cuff and hose, including in some there to
blow inside to make sure nothing's stuck. Here we see the typical bundles of asp
irin, which were forgotten in a pants pocket. Aspirin has been dissolved in the
wash, light weight dog wrapper that has made it to the turbine and water pump ar
e blocking the main water pipe into the drum of the washer.
PHOTO 13

niaticos.blogspot.com
Step 14: Well, we have reviewed all the tubes, we have seen that nothing is left
. Above all, we have made sure that nothing left and we can reassemble everythin
g as it was before. In the picture 14 (Figure 14) shows the entire contents of d
ebris and materials found inside the water pump, so now we know that the fault w
as a blocked duct filling and discharge and a blockade of the turbine pump. All
this caused a traffic jam and the machine could not wash or munch less spin, and
with these simple steps we are now one hundred Eurytus, if you think about it,
we will do well to make ends meet.€This machine was mine, and end in April 2009
to withdraw it and buy another after seven years of use. For 7 years I've been d
oing repairs and maintenance, both straps, as the solenoid, pressure switch, cap
acitor start, and different components, only at cost of spare parts.

WHERE TO BUY SPARE PARTS
The issue of spare parts has its little secrets. All parts of a standard washing
machine with a serial, or if the washer has a serial number and model number. I
f when you have to buy a replacement piece away their old, or facilitates the mo
del reference numbers of spare parts, you can buy them easily. If you do not kno
w where those numbers, take the old component, embólselo well, and take it to th
e store. They asked about the make and model, and will know what component in qu
estion and may make the order. In Spain there are many places to find parts for
appliances, but if you live in the province of Barcelona and wants to play it sa
fe, here I leave the store where I regularly acquire spare parts. FEMA COMERCIAL
