9:12 Modified Game 1: Numbers Netball Act as an umpire in this game

Two even teams, depending Make sure all students are

displaying the correct
on the numbers the game can
technique
be played in a half court or
(with large numbers) extended
to a full court
Each team stands on opposite
sideline and each player
receives a number (with a
corresponding number on the
other team
Two numbers are randomly
called (for example numbers 1
& 5)
The two players from each
team run into the playing area
All players remain along the
sideline
The first number called (in this
example 1) are the only
players able to contest the first
ball (may be thrown or rolled
by teacher/coach)
The team who gain
possession becomes the
attackers whilst the other
defending team tries to
intercept the ball. All netball
rules can apply.
There are a number of
passing and scoring
variations:
- If two attacking players are
able to make 5 consecutive
passes without the ball being
intercepted their team scores
one point
- If the two attacking players are
able to pass the ball into the
goal circle they score two
points and an additional point
if they score a goal
- If playing half-court both
teams are shooting towards
the same goal ring, therefore,
if the ball is intercepted the
defending team becomes the
attacking team but before
attempting a goal they must
first pass the ball back to the
coach/teacher on the
transverse line
- Coach can call a varying
number of passes
- Each variation can be
extended to include at least on
pass to the sideline players on
their team
