Calling All Angels: A Kundalini Yoga Kriya

for Becoming
Like Angels
by Sarah Emerson
In my neck of the woods (southwestern Ontario), the New Year has
brought a white, cold
January unlike any we have had in many moons. Instead of curling
up under my heated blanket, which I will admit I do often in the
winter, I opted to gear up in my jacket and winter-warm gear and
shovel the driveway. It was one of those nights where I felt like I
was being urged to move my body and connect with the outdoor
season. This particular evening the snow was falling, it felt like the
heavens were sprinkling sparkles from the sky, as the snow had a
soft glow and shimmer as it landed on the ground.
At one point as I was shoveling, I decided this perfect night called
for making a snow angel. Before I began moving my wings and
taking my angel fight, I lay still on the ground looking up at the
stars and allowed the sparkly snow to tickle my face. Child-like
giggles and happiness beamed through my vibration as I moved my
hands and feet in an angel dance until I knew my angel was
complete. The best part about that evening was when I stood up
and looked at the angel that lay on the earth and I heard my heart
express, Now you have met an angel, she leaves inside of you.
That night was a good reminder to appreciate all the work,
discipline, and commitment I have put in over the years to clean up
my own vibration so that I can SHINE like an angel. Many of us make
it too easy to let our own drive towards the light and divinities go
unnoticed or unappreciated not by others but by ourselves.
However, remember God created each and every one of us to be like
our very own version of an earth angel. All that hard work and efort
you put in meditating, being your yoga, eating healthy and
spreading light is rewarded in you and re ected outside of you. We
may not have wings growing out of our sides but we all contain
angel qualities in our very own heart. I am grateful for the snow
angel night that reminded me to recognize the godliness living in
ME.
Since my trip outside and renewal of my angel essence, I have found
myself more drawn to praying to the angels for help and guidance in
my life and carrying my angelite crystal stone in my pocket to feel a
closer presence to the light.
From one angel to another and from the band Trains lyrics, Im
calling all you angels out there to step into your essence and
discover the angelic parts inside of you. We are all in this together
as a conscious community so remember I wont give up, if you
dont give up.
There is no better way to bring in the New Year than tapping into
the angel within. Yogi Bhajan left us a great Kundalini
Yoga set called, Becoming like Angels to help us tune into our
angel-like qualities.
To begin this Kriya:

Patting Air. Sit in easy pose with spine straight, neck in alignment
and stretch the right arm forward with the palm facing down. The
left elbow is bent and the upper arm is close to the side of the body.
The left palm is at, facing forward with fingers straight (as though
taking an oath). Move the right arm as though patting the air. Go up
about 30 degrees above horizontal and back down to parallel to the
foor. Keep the arm straight, move from the shoulder and pat at a
speed of about 30 times per minute. Close your eyes, inhale through
the nose and exhale through the mouth. Breathe slowly, heavily and
deeply. Continue for 3-6 minutes.
Switch Sides. Change hands and repeat the first exercise for 2-3
minutes.
Shoulder Roll. Relax and roll your shoulders. Continue loosening the
shoulders for 1-2 minutes.
Balance. Bend both elbows, keeping the upper arms close to the
ribs. The wrists are bent and the palms face upward. The fingers
point away from the body at a diagonal. The eyes focus on the tip of
the nose in a steady, soft gaze. Inhale through the nose and exhale
through the mouth as fast and powerfully as you can. Hold your
arms and shoulders in perfect the nose and exhale through the
mouth as fast and powerfully as you can. Hold your arms and
shoulders in perfect balance. There will be tremendous pressure on
the chest. Continue for 3-5 12 minutes.

Clap the Ground. Rhythmically hit the ground in front of you with
both hands at the same time, keeping the spine fairly straight. As
you hit the ground, chant Har by tapping the tip of the tongue on
the roof of the mouth and use the power of the navel point. Go for
3-6 12 minutes. Then inhale and hold the breath 15 to 20 seconds
while you tense all your muscles and press the hands against the
ground with the entire weight of the body. Exhale explosively
through the mouth. Repeat this sequence 2 more times.

Stretch and Move. Take 2 minutes to recover. Do no meditate or be

silent at this time. Stretch, take a walk around and talk to ground
yourself.
Comments: This is a powerfully transforming kriya that gives you
the health and internal energy to live from your angelic nature. To
surround yourself with angel tunes, download Ashanas song Ave
Maria from her CD All is Forgiven. Her voice just tickles my
imaginary wings into fight.
