His work as a representative of this organization that supports female heads of household and who are at risk, was what motivated her to fulfill one of his greatest dreams: build your brand and market clothes for a share of this is intended for a social cause. During his visit to Colombia, Patricia Conde spoke exclusively with the new century, their creations, their altruistic work and the way it has managed t o combine his work as an actress in the TV show I know what you did with your pl an social. Patricia meaningful Cond THE NEW CENTURY: What motivated you to create and launch a clothing line under h is name? PATRICIA CONDE: As a child I always dreamed of creating my own collecti on. As my mother is a model, I was always related to the world of fashion, what has always driven me to create my own clothes and make up what I like to wear. B y starting my work as UN ambassador. and seeing how people are interested in the clothes he wore every day on TV, I decided to create and send the world a colle ction, but with a social purpose. My motivation has never been more to have more fame or recognition, but to help others. The first thing I did to achieve this great dream was to travel to India and develop each of the pieces in their sweat shops. There I managed to create jobs for female heads of households, with the c ondition that while working in the shop, take their children to school. In this way not only intend to impose a dress or a trendy style for one season or anothe r, but make a difference, show the world that help a needy person is not give a loaf or a fish but teach him to fish or produce that bread so you can be someone useful to society. ENS: How do you start that dream of fashion design? PC: As I said earlier, since my childhood I loved the design. From inside me knew that b ecause of my business, someday I was going to do, and that day finally arrived. One of the things that made possible the realization of my dream was a trip I ma de to AID SHOULD NOT BE RE Spanish actress and creative line ro release will be directed to work IN DECEMBER Conde traveled to India to start producing his first collection of t een clothing. Africa six years ago. There I feel the need that exists between these people and I began to discover and reaffirm that through my adolescent dream, I could cont ribute something to society. I have always felt that somehow I am of the few peo ple who has had it all: loving parents and a stable job. That's something many p eople do not have. E.N.S: What is your inspiration? P.C: Actually I look at ever ything around me. I am open to see how the world wants to show their design: for example, when I walk and I see a beautiful flower, it can inspire me to design a skirt or blouse. Also drawing what I like to use and have not seen anywhere. Thu s, little by little, the first collection was born with my name. ENS: What mater ials predominate in the clothes? PC: For being made in India, dominated the silk gauze like some colored with natural dyes and many sequins. The clothes are ver y colorful, as bujando and thinking how I can make a design or how it would be b etter. Right now I have some interesting things to shoot, just hope to be able t o display this year. ENS: Although you are an ambassador for the UN to Asia and Europe, would you be interested in working in Latin America? P.C: Yes, indeed an d I'm doing. This has been one of the reasons for my trip to Colombia, because I know that there is great need. What people do not know is that this country is my second home, so I have been working for some time with social projects in Bar ranquilla and Cartagena. My desire is to set up aid centers in the major capital s of Colombia, but as I said earlier, I am of people who think things should be given without effort, I believe that helping low-income person should be bound t o make him a useful person to society. ENS: How do you think your example may in fluence their followers? P.C: To me the fame does not interest me. Yes I agree t hat I have had a successful career and I have fun doing what I do, but that is m y job and take it as such. I think the most important is what you do for your en vironment, how you prepare for your career, how to exercise your profession, how you get along with people around you. Sometimes we think that the governments o f each country are those that should solve all problems, but it is not. If we al l work with the same goal, things change. I've always thought about doing someth ing that makes the difference. Egal, BUT TRAIN opa youth. 5% of sales in this collection as social in India. PC: I'd l ike to remember with a smile, not because of my work in film or TV but from what I've done for people with my social work. And in ten years I see myself living here in Colombia, with an established family, teaching my children to be in soli darity with others. In my working life I do not know, maybe it will have already made the film that makes me feel full and to be the butt of my career. In my so cial work, I think it would have branches in every country in the world and with one another fashion store with my personal brand across borders, although I wou ld put the first in Paris. ENS: Do people who wish to join their cause, how can they do? PC: Being aware that we all owe something to society, than any grain of sand that we bring to change the world, is useful. Above all, understanding tha t the only thing that changes this society is not giving aid, but to promote edu cation and work in those who have no resources, that is the only way forward.ÂF or me it is a pleasure to read e-mail or write letters to me saying 12 girls who contributed 10 euros to Haiti or took up a collection among its neighbors to se nd to that party or the other, that's what makes me feel If I'm doing something and I'm not a pretty face on TV more, but someone who fights for a better world. ENS: What do you need to do? P.C: The movie of my life. I have some scripts on my desk I am considering to do, but has not yet made a final decision, because I want the next film in which it participates, is something that makes me feel pr oud to have been part of that project. And of course, also raise a family. PATRICIA CONDE, Spanish actress and in 2009 appointed ambassador to the UN for A sia and Europe, Women Together Foundation.
