and Philippine Normal University.

1st NATIONAL DANCE RESEARCH CONFERENCE:

The conference, with the theme, Building the Groundwork for Quality
Research in Dance is a dance research forum for dance researchers and
practitioners. It will attempt to examine and explore the current dance
practices in the context of performance, teaching / learning and creation.
Also to be showcased during the conference are unpublished and new
research dances to be performed by local chapters of the Samahang
Tagapagtaguyod ng Katutubong Sayaw ng Pilipinas.

FOLKLORIC DANCE FESTIVAL:

Presented by the Cultural Center of the Philippines in cooperation with
Samahang Tagapagtaguyod ng Katutubong Sayaw ng Pilipinas, the festival is
a grand gathering of the major and university-based folk dance troupes in
the Philippines. This festivity highlights the commemoration of the 118th
birthday celebration of Francisca Reyes-Aquino, the first National Artist for
Dance and considered the Mother of Philippine Folk Dance. Also to be
showcased are the works of Dr. Lucrecia Reyes-Urtula (1988 National Artist
for Dance) and Ramon Arevalo Obusan (2006 National Artist for Dance).
