I think there was a reason for title "Karam Allah wajho" for Hazrat Ali, which means

something like the face exalted and blessed by Allah.

Anyone knows when and how prophet:saw: gave this title to Hazrat Ali ?

1. *Sura tauba....

he was sent to makkah by prophet(pbuh) to recite sura tauba for kuffars

there...

if i am right!

It was 9th Hijri and Muslims were set to Makkah to perform haj under Hazrat
Abu Bakr (RZA), when the Prophet (PBUH) sent Hazrat Ali (RZA) with the
above ayaat.

Hazrat Ali (RZA) went there and recite the ayaat and perform the hajj under
Hazrat Abu Bakr(RZA).

Code_Red "Karam Allah wajho" is not a title but a dua and it is not from Rasool
Allah (Peace be upon him and his family).

Just as "RadiAllah anhu " is used by Muslims with names of all the blessed
companions of Rasool Allah (saw), "Karam Allah wajho" is used specifically for Hz.
Ali (ra) in response to extremist opponents of his from Bani Umayyah and Kharajis
who used to say "May Allah blacken his face".

So in respose Muslims (mostly Sunnis) say "Karam Allah wajho" meaning "May
Allah blessed his face." (Shia Muslims of use "Alayhe Salaam").

It is also said that "Karam Allah wajho" is used with his name as he had never
bowed his head to the false deities.

exactly..hazrat abu bakr(ra) was made Ameer-ul-Hajjaj by prophet(pbuh) and

ali(ra) performed hajj under him....
