Adding fronted adverbials to sentences is easy. Just think when, where and how for the
verb.

1. The girl played.

Ask yourself: Where did she play? How did she play? When did she play?
You can answer any of these and add a fronted adverbial. Of course, the fronted
adverbial must be at the front. You must remember to use a comma after the
fronted adverbial.

For example, the answer could be any of these:


In the morning, the girl played.
During the break, the girl played.
Happily and excitedly, the girl played.

Now try adding fronted adverbials to these sentences:

2. Fatima walked.
