l The electrical product shall be safely and properly
assembled and connected.

from an electrical product

be caused by external influences on
an electrical product

n An electrical product shall be designed and constructed in
order to ensure that:
l persons are adequately protected against danger of
physical injury or other harm;

l temperatures, arcs or radiation which are not part of the


intended function of the product, and likely to cause a
danger, are not produced;

l Persons are adequately protected against non-


non-electrical
danger caused by the electrical product;

l persons are adequately protected against danger due to


hazardous materials used in the electrical product;

l the insulation is suitable for foreseeable conditions.

requirements in such a way that persons are
