ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Apart from my efforts the success of any training depends largely on the encouragement and
guidelines by many other. I take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the people who
have been instrumental in this training.

I am grateful to our esteemed educational institution ALWAR INSTITUTE OF

ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY, ALWAR for providing us with high quality
technical education, hence adding a new dimension to our career.

I am even highly grateful to our chairmen Mr. V.K Agarwal, Executive chairman Mrs.
Manju Agarwal for creating such environment within the college premises.

I would also like to express my gratitude towards our Head of Department Mr. Anil
Mahawar (HOD) and entire M.E dept. for showing confidence in us & for their motivation
& encouragement.

Last but not least, I am grateful to my parents and friends for their love, support and
patience in every phase of my life.

ABSTRACT

An industrial PLC and SCADA system is to for the development of automatic control of machinery. PLC
and SCADA system are methods to achieve Automation. Automation industry has fast growth
potential in a country like India, which has a large industry base. This report focuses on
brief concepts of PLC and SCADA system, their development, and also mentions
possible applications of these systems. Almost every industry that has some electrical
machinery may need Automation Services. Attention is also paid to the security issues which have
arisen with time.

This training report consists of basic automation concepts &automatic system theory. It
present the development of these system like as PLC, SCADA & DCS. It provides the
information why these systems are being adopted & their advantage & dis. An automatic
system is considered far superior than manual control because it results in precision &
accuracy & improved quality.

This helps us in providing the basic construction & programming of plc. It presents the types
of plc & their features. In case of plc hardwiring & complexity is reduced &their maintenance
& troubleshooting is easier.

PLC connected with the SCADA provides the operation in animated form, which become
easier for the operator to keep watch of the process & enable them to modify in case the plant
is at some remote site that is in the hazardous chemical plant.

It describes the Allen Bradley plc & its working, & how the scan cycle is operated to perform
the operation. & the addressing of various input, output modules.
