FAQs regarding updating information on the Aadhaar Card

Dear Leaders,

This is in reference to the Aadhaar based online ABO registration. We are

receiving many queries wherein in many Aadhaar cards issued, but the date of
birth in not mentioned correctly. In some cases, either only year of birth or year
& month of birth is mentioned. ABOs are now asking about the process for
updating information on their Aadhaar Card.

Please find below some FAQs regarding updating information on the Aadhaar
Card.

Que. Can we update our information as it appears on the Aadhaar Card

currently?
Ans. Yes

Que. What all information can be updated?

Ans. Name, Gender, DOB, Address and Email. An OTP for updating the data
would be sent to your mobile number and therefore, your mobile number
should be registered with Aadhaar at the time of enrolment.

Que. I am not sure if my mobile number is registered with Aadhaar. How can I
check the same?
Ans. Please visit https://resident.uidai.net.in/verify-email-mobile to check if
your mobile number is registered with Aadhaar.

 Que. My mobile number is registered with Aadhaar. How do I update my
information?
Ans. The information can be updated online in the following way:
Please visit https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/update and follow
the steps. An OTP would be sent to your mobile number before the
data is updated.

Que. My mobile number is NOT registered with Aadhaar. How do I update my

information and my MOBILE NUMBER?
Ans. There are 2 ways of updating your information if you do not have your
mobile number registered with Aadhaar.
1. You can update your information by filling in a physical form
(https://uidai.gov.in/images/UpdateRequestFormV2.pdf) and send
it to Aadhaar office by post/courier.
2. You can visit an Aadhaar Centre and update your information by
verifying your identity using biometrics.
