Introduction

This course is intended for personnel appointed as an organisations

LOLER Competent Person. The LOLER Competent Person plans or
approves all lifting operations in the workplace and ensures lifting
operations comply with LOLER regulations and company procedures.
The course provides an assessment of the LOLER Competent Persons
competence.

The candidates will be expected to demonstrate competence in the

following areas:

LOLER, PUWER and HASAWA regulations

Safe systems of work
Assessment of personnel
Management of personnel
The inspection of lifting equipment and the concept of discard
criteria
Safe use of lifting equipment
The management of rigging lofts
The planning of lifting operations
Risk assessment

This course consists of both theory test papers and practical

assessments.
