Management of the Instructional Environment (strategies for engaging,
motivating, and inspiring students):
Brainbreaks will be conducted whenever the children start to get off topic. Also we will
be walking around making sure the students are doing what they are supposed to be
doing. Will praise children for sharing their ideas.
Technology Integration:
The students will get the iPads to use a weather app called Kid Weather in order to look
up the temperatures of their current location as well as 3 other places they would like to
choose. Then they will get on the computers to visit a website called Kids Zone
(https://nces.ed.gov/nceskids/createagraph/default.aspx) were they will input their data
in order to create a bar graph. Finally they will print out their results.
Diversity and Equity:
Language Adaptations/Modifications (for beginning, intermediate, and
advanced students)
Beginner: Can work with a partner to look up the different temperatures, and talk about
it to the class in their language about what they found instead of writing about it. Oral
modification: Students will be able to speak in their own language to another student
who speaks it. They would also be able to use any notes they have taken over the topic.
Can use props to help them with their speaking.
Intermediate: Can work with a partner on the writing portion of the assignment. Oral
modification: The students will be allowed to write down what they want to say before
sharing with the class, they will be allowed to use the paper while talking.
Advanced: Will work alone on the research portion as well as the written. Oral
modification: Students will speak to the class normally. Will be allowed to use notes.
