CLIMATE CHANGE

Assalammualaikum and good evening to Mr Razali and fellow friends. On

this evening i would like to share about climate change. Do you know what is
climate change? Climate change is when there is a big difference in normal
climate patterns over a long amount of time. The Earths climate appears to be
changing very fast. Scientists are not sure exactly how much the climate has
changed, or why this is happening, but they do believe that at least some of the
changes are because of things we are doing.
What are the thing that we are doing? Look at the cause of climate change. First
is gases. Scientists believe that the world is getting hotter, which we can see by
the melting of the polar ice caps and the rise in sea levels. They think that the
increase in greenhouse gases, gases from factories, gases from vehicles such
as cars, lorries, buses and aeroplane that go into the atmosphere. Next is cutting
down of forests and burning of oil and coal. That will cause a global warming.
The amount of aerosols that we used also contribute to the climate change. The
ozone layer, which protects us from the sun's harmful UV rays, has become a lot
thinner.
Let us see the effect of climate change. First is global warming. It causes
thermal expansion of land and water. It also causes ice sheets to melt. Large
volumes of melted ice and become a water then flows down into streams, rivers,
lakes and seas. The result is rising sea and water levels, causing floods and
massive destruction to low-lying towns and cities along water bodies. Second is
the changes of the weather. It become more extreme. Sometimes the weather
become too cold cause of heavy rain and sometime it become too hot because of
the droughts. Extreme changes in weather make extreme changes in global
temperature. This will makes people suffer from breathing difficulties, headaches,
body rashes and other illness. Climate change also distorts the natural habitats
and lives of many plants and animals. For example, the survival of polar bears
and penguins in icy regions are in danger, as they cannot survive anywhere else.
Other plants and animals in hot regions will die if temperatures suddenly become
too cold for them.
How could we prevent it? Let us start by reducing a carbon footprint. For example
vehicles. Vehicles produce greenhouse gasses. Walk or cycle rather than drive or
sharing in using a car. Next we can protect and plants trees. Trees absorb carbon
from the air. This means the air will be fresher and also help regulate climate.
Last we can recycle, reduce and re-use items. When we recycle cans, bottle,
plastic and paper, we send less trash to landfill. Save and love our earth.
