Assignment 3

1) Discuss the importance of quality team works, and team building.

The importance of quality team work and team building to an organization is in its
potential. By having teams it not only gives employees a sense of belonging but it
provides them with motivation. Motivation to be the best team as well to fit in, by trying
to fit in different areas will be cover and the strengths of the individuals will become the
strengths of the team, and at the same time this will help with any weakness. Teams
promote creativity, by having different individuals working as a team it gives them the
opportunity to share ideas and in turn create a better product. Team work is important, but
selecting the right members for a team is crucial as well. A team that is diverse provides
with potential to innovate, however during the process of selecting members one must
take in account their attributes. This will determine whether a team is successful or not.
Having a well structure team, and clear responsibilities will give the team direction and
the opportunity to succeed.

2) How would you handle conflicts in quality teams?

Conflict can be prevented in certain scenarios. However if conflict were to actually

happen actions to diffuse the situation must be taken. I would create a channel of
communication in order to facilitate communication which in turn lead to a solution.
Aside from creating a communication channel I will ensure to hear all parties involved in
the conflict by doing so fairness and equality can be establish. If the conflict is due to
personal reasons a particular approach should be taken and it this will be determine in a
case by case basis. However if the conflict was created due to a broken reward system my
priority will be to rectify such system and ensure that team work as well as quality are the
actions that bring upon rewards.

3) How do you reward quality achievements in a team? How should a liquid /on-
demand workforce be rewarded for quality achievements?

Quality achievements should be rewarded through a well set rewarding system. The
system will be structure as follows. First the organization will determine what actions and
performances will be rewarded. Secondly the organization will determine the range of
acceptable for such performance, as well as how will this be measure. Third a research
should take place in order to determine the corresponded rewards for the system, this is
done due to people are motivated by different things. When the rewards have been
determine a scale of performance to reward should be created to determine what actions
will receive what rewards. Finally implementation will take place, observing the behavior
of the team is key factors in determine if the system is well set or if adjustments are
needed.

4) How do you communicate effectively?

To communicate effectively one must not only pass on a message or idea, but ensure that
the recipients have received, understood and acted upon it. When communicated one
must be precise, direct and assertive. Precise and direct, the message should be
transmitted clearly and well detail to avoid confusion with regard to needs and
requirement. Assertiveness is needed in order to ensure that whoever receives the
message understands the urgency and need of collaboration of all parties involved.
However all this must be done differently from one scenario to the next, for each case is
different. One scenario might require motivation in order to achieve higher acceptance
and follow up, while other scenarios need to be presented with high priority and urgency
and ensuring that people understand the nonnegotiable need of the organization. Overall
communication is a key factor in all aspects of an organization and effective
communication can either bring the level of quality and success up or just drop it due to
poor communication.
5) Why are listening skills important?

Listening skills are important for it help us not only understand the literal meaning of
what is being said to us, but it help us actively understand the underline message, the tone
of a conversation and the reasons behind such conversations. By not only understanding
the literal meaning of the words but actually understanding what message is trying to be
transmitted reduces the risk of an idea getting lost due to poor attention and listening
skills. When an idea, concern or instructions are fully understand the execution process
becomes simpler and increases the success/compliance rate. Being able to listen to either
the urgency or seriousness of a message one can adjust the approach given. If we provide
the proper urgency to what is being said to us the results will reach the level expected. If
we actively listen we will eventually learn the origin of what is being said to us, if so it
becomes easier to relate and this will in turn help us act upon what is being said to us. If
we put all the skills together we will increase the likelihood of achieving the desire goals,
as well as discover new needs and/or requirements.

Negativity can be harmful to the organization, it can spread as well as it can harm

be clear, management needs to ensure that the goals as well as the path is clear for the
employees. For if there is confusion tension will build up, if this were to happen
management needs to find a way to release the tension that will be building. This can
happen due to deadlines, high demand, and conflicts between employees; for all this

not only allow ideas to flow, but it also gives opportunity for solutions to arise. To

means to a cooperative solution is important. Secondly, as an organization that is aiming
to solve any conflict efficiently guidelines must be put in place. By having predetermine
guidelines it helps management as well as employees approach situations with more
confidence and trust that a solution will be reach. Third, when a conflict arises blame

11) Social networking assignment.

Discussion: http://carlosggarces.weebly.com/social-networking-assignment-3.html

The purpose of our discussion is to share ideas and thoughts regarding current news and
articles. This time Fady and myself have discuss articles that go Tidal lagoons,
Volkswagen scandal and a modern way of transportation that is more appealing to the
current generation due to its benefits towards the environment. Tidal lagoons, as discuss
with my classmate, we both agree that it is a great source of renewable energy, which is
not only cost efficient but reliable as well. Compare to other sources of energy the fact
that this can be predicted to such extend brings hope of a long lasting source however a
great point was brought by the article. The creation of these plants for tidal lagoons plants
will have some sort of effect on the ecosystem. Now such effect needs to be study and
researched upon in order to determine the actual impact and consequences that will bring.
With all that in mind this still is a valuable option. We then discuss Volkswagen scandal,
it is clear that the company has made a poor choice regarding quality as well as customer
care. As we both saw this has stain their reputation and created not only an opening for
legal lawsuits but it will bring upon them bad reviews as well as a more thorough reviews
by the boards. Finally we discuss the current generation and its commitment in finding a
more efficient ways for modern transportation. It's clear that people of this generation
have a higher concern for global climate changes, and are willing to take action in order
to resolve it. The article provides to great examples of modern transportation that can be
implement in major cities in a way to reduce pollution and increase the quality of public
transportation.
