In accordance to the American College of Surgeons, monitor the daily care and the outcomes for all
trauma patients to assure effective and quality patient care in a Level 2 Verified Trauma Center. Using
the trauma registry (Digital Innovations V5 and previous NTRACS systems) I identify areas for
improvement, develop corrective action plans, reevaluate, and assure adequate loop closure. Collect
data via on going chart reviews for our benchmark TQIP system. Utilize TQIP reports to support and
create on going performance improvement projects. Through TQIP data reports, educate the trauma
systems and peer committees on quality of care, areas for improvement, and areas of strengths to
continue.

State of Nebraska, Trauma Designation Site Nurse

Assist the state in a consulting, nurse reviewer position, to visit and evaluate trauma care at hospitals
obtaining their Trauma Designation from the State of Nebraska. As a site reviewer I review the trauma
centers application in preparation for the site visit, evaluate the capacity of the applicant to provide
quality trauma services and its ability to meet the equipment and performance standards at the level of
designation sought. Tour and inspect the physical facility, check equipment for appropriateness and
maintenance, examine facility records to include, patient care records, qualifications for required
professionals; on call schedules and minutes related to trauma. Interview appropriate individuals,
review all records of morbidity and mortality related to trauma and prepare a written report within 30-
days after the visit, which identifies trauma center criterion deficiencies and weaknesses and write
recommendations for correction of each deficiency and weakness identified.
