Prior Knowledge:
- The lesson is about the numbers and specifically about the number 17. Also, it is
including some animals which they are; pandas, tigers, parrots and gorillas which will
help the students to count and write the animals number. The students will build up
their knowledge by counting the numbers from 1 to17. I am expecting that students
will count tell 20 which is good and I am expecting that students know how to write
the numbers.

- Warm up activity: The warm up activity is the numbers song and I will ask the
students to sing with the numbers song also I will do the same with the students. The
video will engage the students about the lesson and will be excited about counting.

- The video is about 1 minute and 20 seconds and here is the video link:

Lesson Objectives: I linked the lesson with Blooms taxonomy so, at the end of the lesson
students will be able:
- To remember the numbers from 1 to 20 and especially the number 17 and some
animals which are in the lesson which they are; pandas, gorillas, parrots and tigers
and I am expecting students will remember the animals name easily.
- To understand the quantity of the number 17.
- To apply using the number 17. I will ask the students to give me sentences that
include the number 17. For example; I have 17 pencils.
- To analyze the number 17 by counting and drawing.
- Students will be evaluated during the whole lesson while they are reading from
the flash cards, answering the questions on their activity book.
- They will be able to create sentences by using the number 17 in their speaking
during the lesson.

- Key vocabulary: Numbers 0-17.

Attitudes:
- Remind the students to respect the teacher and their friends.
- Give your classmate a chance to participate in the class.
- Raise your hand if you need help.
- Ask for a permission for anything. For example: if the student need to go to the
toilet they have to say: I want to go to toilet please.
- The classroom is a place to learn, not to play.
- Help your friend if she need a help.
- Dont talk with each other.
Knowledge/Understanding:
- The students will be able to count from 1 to 17.
- The students will be able to use the number 17 in sentences. I am expecting that
students will say; I have 17 pencils in my pencil case.
- I will make sure that students understand that the number 17 is made up of a
number 1 and a number 7.
Skills:
1- Listening: To practice listening and understanding the numbers 0-16 and the new
number 17.
2- Speaking: To practice using the numbers 0-17 when speaking.
3- Reading: To practice reading the written form of the numbers 0-17.
4- Writing: To practice tracing numbers and writing parts of numbers.
Evaluation / Assessment:
- I will check the students understanding about the number 17 by asking them to
count from 1 to 20 and I will make sure that they know the number 17.
- I will evaluate the students when it is the time to do the activities and the
worksheets.
- I will check their understanding about the quantity of the number 17 by drawing in
the worksheet.
Personal focus:
- In this lesson I am working on my PDP goal five which is develop my teaching
presence in the classroom since this lesson I need to move between the groups
and to check students understanding about the number 17.

- Also, I am working on my PDP goal four which is support students learning by


improve my skills in scaffold the students because the lesson need to have the
numbers on flashcards on the white bored to teach the students the numbers.
Teaching Competencies focus:
- In this lesson I am working on teaching competencies number two which is
planning for learning because I will make sure that my teaching strategies is
effective to meet a range of learning needs and to promote engagement.

- Also, I am working on teaching competencies number three which is implementing


and managing learning because I will do my best to provide effective scaffolding
for the students and I will maintain effective classroom presence.

Teaching strategies:
- As I teach students in grade one the whole lesson will be direct teaching because
they are young and they need to be directed and I will scaffold the students and
they will practice.

- I will ask the students different questions and here are some;
Do you know the number 17?
Do you know how to write the number 17?

Classroom management strategies:


- First, greeting the students, thank them, let them to sit down and to get prepared
for the lesson by getting their books on the table and their pencil case. Then I will
ask them about the date, day, unite, title and the weather. Moreover, I will ask
them to put their books and their pencil case in their tables so nothing will be on
their table and they will not be busy with their books.
- I will use my sentence Eyes to me to get their attention and the students have to
say Eyes to you, and Eyes to the bored to look at the bored.
- I will use Stop, Look & Listen when will be the time to give the students
instructions and to model for them.

- If they were talking while I am talking I will use my sign with the hands to stop
talking. Moreover, I will count till number five and thats mean that they have to
stop talking.

Behavioral management strategies:


- I will use non-verbal strategies which they are my face, my hands and eye contact.
For example, if there were a student who is talking I will make an eye contact so
she knows that she has to stop it. If there were student stand up I will use my hand
as a sign to know that she has to sit.
Feedback strategies:
- I will give the students feedback to improve their learning. I will use verbal
feedback when will be the time to ask them verbal questions. For example; good
job Meera, well done. Also, I will give group feedback, for example; look at this
group, they are quite, they finish their work and they are ready for the next
activity, then I will ask the other groups to clap their hands for the best group. In
addition, there will be written feedback when it is the time to do the activities on
their activity book.

- After I greet the students and ask the daily questions which is about the day, date,
title and what we are going to do, I will tell them about the numbers then I will put
