TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATED LESSON PLAN IN

MATHEMATICS GRADE V

Topic: Comprehension of Ratio

I. OBJECTIVE/S

Cognitive: Visualizes the ratio of two numbers

Psychomotor: Express the ratio of two numbers

Express ratio of two numbers by using either

colon(s): or a fraction

Affective: Show cooperation in a group

II. CONTENT SKILL

Concept: Ratio is a comparison of two quantities

Ratio can be written as number phase, fraction,

or with the use of colon.

In writing ratios, follow the order of the given

quantities

III. PROCEDURE

A. Preparatory Activities

Review/Drill
Have a sort of games Survival Game the boat is sinking.
After which let the pupils identify the ratio of girls from
boys who survive the game.

Motivation
Show a situation to the pupils using the OHP or Multi-
media projector. In the farm Sami mixes 3 cups of corn
to 4 cups chicken feed for his chickens. What is the ratio
of cups of corn to cups of chicken feed? One pupil will
act-out using the real corn and feeds and see the
comparison between the two quantities, while other are
observing.

B. Developmental Activities

Presentation of the Lesson

Use the CAIMs to present the lesson and let pupils
manipulate understand it by listening to the Video in the
CAIMs.

Facilitate in using the CAIMs in order the pupils to follow

the correct path.

C. Post Activity

Generalization

Let the pupils state what is ratio.

Ratio is comparison between 2 or more quantities

expressed on the same unit. It shows how much one
quantity is greater than other.
Note: In a ratio comparing two quantities, the first and
the second number refer to the first and the second
quantities respectively 1:2 is not the same as 2:1.

Application

Pupils will be group and be given objects with different

quantities and let them write the ratio of it; the same time
with the activity card and have a proper labeling and after
which will be the group reporting about their work. (While
teacher is capturing their activities using the digital
camera.)

IV. EVALUATION
Refer to the evaluation on the CAIMs

V. ASSIGNMENT

Give the Ratio of the following:

Sauted Beans
Ingredients:
5 cups green beans
6 tablespoons chopped onion
5 tablespoon oil
3 tablespoon soy sauce
6 teaspoon water

1. What is the ratio of soy sauce to union?

2. Is the ratio of oil to soy sauce equivalent to the ratio of
onion to oil?
3. If you double the recipe, what is the ratio of soy sauce to
onion?
4. One table spoon is equal to 3 teaspoons. If teaspoon will
be used, what will be the ratio of water to the
combination of onion, oil, and soy sauce?
5. One cup is equivalent to 16 tablespoons. About how
many cups of sauted bean does this recipe make?
