A. Introduction
Congratulations on your selection of the Toshiba USB Hi-Speed Flash Drive.
This Flash Drive enables you to store and transfer files easily and quickly with
friends and co-workers. Pre-loaded on your flash drive is LOCK, a Security
Application Program. The software provides you with a high level of security for
data stored on the flash drive. It lets you set up your own password with a
maximum of 16 characters and adjustable public and secure areas to help
prevent misuse if the flash drive is lost or stolen.
B. Notes
Please note the following when using LOCK:
1. The LOCK Security Application Program is only designed for Windows
based operating systems. It is not compatible with MAC OS or Linux.
2. Windows 2000 users need to upgrade to Service Pack 3 (SP3) or Service
pack 4 (SP4) before using this program. Please logon to Microsoft.com to
download the service pack.
3. DO NOT plug another USB flash drive when running the LOCK Security
Application
4. This program will only work with the Toshiba USB Flash Drive.
IMPORTANT: Once a password is set for the flash drive, you will have 6 chances
to enter the password correctly or the flash drive will be formatted, erasing any
data on the flash drive. This is a security prevention to in case the flash drive is
lost or stolen.

C. Features
Disk Free the LOCK program stored on the flash drive so you dont have to
carry the program on an extra CD-ROM disc or floppy disk.
(b) Easy to Operate the LOCK program is pictorial with easy to

understand icons and friendly descriptions.
(c) Customized Password users can choose their own password from
1 character to a maximum of 16 characters.
(d) Fixed Password Retry users are limited to type in the password
5 times. After typing in the wrong password for the sixth time, the drive will be
formatted to protect the data of been accessible to others.
Friendly Reminder there is a password hint function available, in case the

user forgets his/her password. User can set up their own password hint up to
32 characters
Multi Language Support the LOCK program supports English, Japanese,

Simplify Chinese, and Traditional Chinese languages The operating system
will auto detect the language used The default interface set to English

D. Using the LOCK Security Application Program

When the USB Flash Drive is plugged into a USB port, the operating system
should recognize the device and show the two Removable Disk icons, Partition
1 and Partition 2. (The drive letters on your computer may be different than
shown in the examples.) The LOCK program is stored in the Partition 2.
The partitions enable you to keep confidential files separate from your other files
that you want to share. Both partitions can be accessed if no password is
assigned. Once a password is assigned, a password needs to be entered to
access partition 1.
Partition 1 Secure Area

This secure area is locked when if a password has been assigned and can only
be accessed by typing in the correct password. If no password is assigned, it
can be used like the public area in partition 2.
Partition 2 Public Area

This area is always open to all users using the Flash Drive. Users can read/
write data to this area at any time. The LOCK program is stored in this partition.
Password security will only apply to partition 1 and will not affect partition 2.

Set-up a New Password

Enter a password of your choice up to a maximum of 16 characters. A password
hint can also be entered to remind you of your password in case you forget your
password. (maximum 32 characters including spaces).
NB : You can only type in English letters and numbers.
Click the Show Password box to see what is being typed
Press to save the password and password hint. The following message will
appear confirming that the password has been set or changed.
NOTE: The flash drive will be locked automatically when you remove it from the
USB port or if there is a suspension in power.
Press to cancel the set up procedure if you do not wish to save the password
and password hint.
NOTE: Once you setup a password, you will have 6 chances to enter the
password correctly or the flash drive will be formatted

Change your password : In order to change your password, you must enter
your current password. You may also edit the password hint at the same time.
Click the Show Password box to see what is being typed.
Press to save the password and password hint. The following message will
appear confirming that the password has been set or changed. The flash drive
will be locked automatically when you remove it from the USB port or if there is a
suspension in power.
Press to cancel the change password procedure if you want to keep current
password and password hint.

E3. Remove your Password
In order to change your password, you must enter your current password.
Press the second button on the right to remove the password.
Press to cancel if you do not want remove your current password and
password hint.
You have six chances to enter the password correctly before the flash drive is
formatted. If you have forgotten your password, click on the password hint and
see if it reminds you with your password. reminds you with your password.

If the wrong password is typed in for the fifth time, the following message will be
displayed
If the wrong password is typed in for the sixth time, the flash drive will be
formatted
If you have forgotten your password, click on the password hint and see if it
reminds you with your password.
Enter the correct password and your password will be removed.

E4. Unlock the Flash Drive

If the flash drive is password protected and removed from the USB port (or if
there is a suspension in power), Partition 1 on the flash drive will be
automatically locked. You will not be able to access Partition 1, nor read or write
data to Partition 1, unless the flash drive is unlocked.
Follow these steps to temporarilty unlock the flash drive
Press the third button on the right to temporarily Unlock the partition.

You will be prompted to enter your password. Press to cancel, if you do not
want to unlock partition 1.
You have six chances to enter the password correctly before the flash drive is
formatted.

Once the correct password is entered, partition 1 will temporarily available until
the flash drive is removed from the USB port or if there is a suspension in power.
When partition 1 is unlocked, you can read or write data to the partition.

E5. Configure Partition Sizes

You can change the sizes of the two partitions (public and secure).

Press the middle button on the bottom of the LOCK application program to
resize the public and secure partition areas.
Before you can use the Configure Size (resizing) function, the password must
be disabled if a password has been setup. Follow section E3 of this manual to
disable your password.
A warning message will be displayed informing you that data will be destroyed if
your data is not backed up, Press to cancel the operation and back up your
data first, otherwise press to continue.

Move the pointer to the left or right to change the size of the public and secure
area. (the minimum capacity that can be set for the public area is 2MB)
Press to cancel the operation if you do not want to change the current public
and secure area; otherwise, press to continue.
The flash drive will be formatted. Please wait until the Formatting Completed
message appears.
After configuring (resizing & formatting) your USB flash drive, please remove it
from the USB port and re-plug it in again before starting to use it again.

You can see the change in capacity sizes of each partition.

NB: After configuring (resizing) is completed, all data will get erased from the
flash drive, but the security application program will be automatically restored in
the public area.

F. Checking the version of the LOCK Security

Application Program
In some instances, it is necessary to know the version of the LOCK program, for
example, if you need technical support or to upgrade to a newer vesion.
Press the top left hand button and the version will be displayed.
G. Running the Program As a Privileged User

Some users may see this screen.
Check and make sure that you have plugged in your device and your Windows
operating system did recognise your device. Otherwise, please check FAQ Q3
for more detail.

H. FAQ Frequently Asked Questions

Q2 My Windows 2000 / XP or Vista operating system cannot detect my
device, what can I do ?
A2 Since there are no drivers required for these operating systems, the device
uses the built-in driver (USB Mass Storage Class Driver) from these
operating systems. If your operating system cannot find the device, then it
is very likely that the built-in driver files are missing or corrupted. Please try
to recover these files from the original Windows operating system CD.
NB : Windows 2000 users, please upgrade to service pack 3 or later.
Q3 When I run the LOCK program, it displayed Please insert the device
or run this utility as privileged user ?
A3 This problem may occur in Windows 2000 or Windows XP, under the
following two instances.
Instance 1 : You have forgotten to insert your device.
Instance 2 : The LOCK security application program
requires security privileges in these Windows
operating systems. If you are not the
administrator of the computer, these privileges
may be restricted by the administrator. Please
check with your MIS or administrator of the
computer to open up the privileges. Follow
these steps:
When logged into the affected account, run GPEDIT.MSC from the run
menu (you can also use the Run As option). Locate the security policy
Devices: Allowed to eject removable NTFS media, located in Local
Computer Policy >> Computer Configuration >> Windows Settings >>
Security Settings >> Local Policy >> Security Options. You need to change
the access from Administrators and Power Users to Administrators and
Inter Active Users.

A. Introduction
Merci davoir choisi un lecteur Flash sur port USB Toshiba. Ce lecteur Flash
permet de stocker des fichiers ou den changer aisment avec des amis ou des
collgues. Le programme de scurit LOCK est prcharg sur le lecteur
Flash. Ce logiciel assure un niveau lev de scurit pour les donnes
conserves sur le lecteur Flash. Vous pouvez dfinir un mot de passe (avec un
maximum de 16 caractres), une zone publique et une zone scurise pour
viter toute utilisation non autorise en cas de perte ou de vol du lecteur Flash.
B. Remarques
les conditions suivantes rgissent lutilisation du programme LOCK :
1. Lapplication de scurit LOCK est uniquement destine aux systmes
dexploitation Windows. Elle nest pas compatible avec MAC OS ou
Linux.
2. Sous Windows 2000, il est ncessaire davoir appliqu le Service Pack 3
(SP3) ou le Service pack 4 (SP4) avant dutiliser ce programme. Pour
tlcharger le Service Pack le plus rcent, visitez le site Microsoft.com.
3. Veillez ne pas connecter dautre lecteur Flash USB lorsque vous
utilisez lapplication de scurit LOCK.
4. Ce programme ne fonctionne quavec le lecteur Flash Toshiba sur
port USB.
IMPORTANT : une fois que le mot de passe a t dfini, en cas derreur il est
possible de tenter jusqu 6 fois de saisir le mot de passe. Aprs la sixime
tentative infructueuse, le lecteur Fash est format et toutes les donnes quil
contient sont effaces. Cette prcaution est destine prserver la
confidentialit de vos donnes en cas de perte ou de vol du lecteur Flash.

C. Caractristiques
Pas de disque externe ncessaire : le programme LOCK se trouve sur le
lecteur Flash, il nest donc pas ncessaire dutiliser un CD-ROM ou une
disquette de plus.
(b) Facilit dutilisation : linterface du programme LOCK est entirement

graphique, avec des icnes et des descriptions faciles comprendre.
(c) Mot de passe personnel : lutilisateur peut choisir son mot de passe
(entre 1 et 16 caractres).
(d) Limite du nombre de tentatives de saisie du mot de passe : le

nombre de saisies dun mot de passe erron est limit 5 fois. Aprs une
sixime tentative de mot de passe incorrect, le lecteur sera format pour
protger les donnes de tout accs par une personne non autorise.
Aide-mmoire convivial : une fonction daide fournit un indice lutilisateur

au cas o il oublierait son mot de passe. Le texte de lindice peut compter
jusqu 32 caractress
Prise en charge multilingue : linterface du programme LOCK est

disponible en anglais, japonais, chinois simplifi et chinois traditionnel. Si le
systme dexploitation est dans lune de ces langues, celle-ci est
automatiquement utilise. Sinon, linterface est en anglais.

D. Utilisation de lapplication de scurit LOCK

Lorsque lutilisateur connecte le lecteur Flash USB un port USB, le systme
dexploitation dtecte le priphrique et affiche deux icnes de disques
amovibles, Partition 1 et Partition 2. (Les lettres de lecteur utilises sur votre
ordinateur peuvent diffrer de celles qui apparaissent dans les exemples
ci-dessous.) Le programme LOCK se trouve sur la Partition 2.
Les partitions permettent de sparer les fichiers confidentiels des fichiers que
vous voulez laisser en libre accs. Ces deux partitions sont accessibles tant
quaucun mot de passse na t dfini. Lorsquun mot de passe a t cr, il est
ncessaire de le connatre pour accder la partition 1.
Partition 1 : zone scurise

Lorsquun mot de passe a t dfini, il est ncessaire de connatre le mot de
passe correct pour accder cette zone. Si aucun mot de passe na t cr,
cette partition peut tre utilise librement, comme la zone publique de la
partition 2.
Partition 2 : zone publique

Cette zone est toujours accessible par tous les utilisateurs du lecteur Flash.
Ces derniers peuvent y lire ou enregistrer des donnes librement. Le
programme LOCK se trouve dans cette partition. La zone scurise par le mot
de passe est la partition 1, et la partition 2 est en libre accs.

E. Paramtrage de lapplication de scurit LOCK

E1. Ecran principal
Amenez le curseur de la souris sur une icne pour voir une description de la
fonction de cette icne.
E2. Set Password / Change Password (Dfinir le mot de passe /

Modifier le mot de passe)
Pour dfinir ou modifier le mot de passe, cliquez sur le bouton dans le coin
suprieur droit.

Crer un mot de passe

Indiquez le mot de passe choisi (16 caractres au maximum). Il est galement
possible de saisir le texte dun indice, pour vous aider retrouver votre mot de
passe si vous lavez oubli. (maximum 32 caractres, espaces compris).
NB : vous ne pouvez utiliser que des lettres non accentues et des chiffres.
Cliquez dans la bote Show Password pour afficher le texte que vous tapez
Cliquez sur pour enregistrer le mot de passe et son indice. Le message

suivant saffiche pour confirmer que le mot de passe a t correctement dfini
ou modifi.
REMARQUE : le lecteur Flash est automatiquement verrouill si vous le retirez
du port USB ou si lordinateur passe en veille.
Si vous ne souhaitez pas enregistrer le nouveau mot de passe et son indice,

cliquez sur .
REMARQUE : une fois que le mot de passe a t dfini, en cas derreur il est
possible de tenter jusqu 6 fois de saisir le mot de passe. Aprs la sixime

Modification du mot de passe : Pour modifier le mot de passe, vous devez

dabord saisir le mot de passe actuel. Vous pouvez galement modifier lindice
par la mme occasion.
Cliquez dans la bote Show Password pour afficher le texte que vous tapez.
Cliquez sur pour enregistrer le mot de passe et son indice. Le message

suivant saffiche pour confirmer que le mot de passe a t correctement dfini
ou modifi. le lecteur Flash est automatiquement verrouill si vous le retirez du
port USB ou si lordinateur passe en veille.
Si vous ne souhaitez pas modifier le mot de passe et son indice, cliquez sur .

E3. Suppression du mot de passe.
Pour modifier le mot de passe, vous devez dabord saisir le mot de passe actuel.
Pour supprimer le mot de passe, cliquez sur le second bouton partir de la
droite.
Si vous ne souhaitez pas supprimer le mot de passe et son indice, cliquez
sur .
En cas de saisie dun mot de passe erron, vous avez un maximum de six
tentatives autorises, aprs quoi le lecteur sera format. En cas doubli du mot
de passe, cliquez sur lindice. Celui-ci doit vous aider retrouver votre mot de
passe.

E4. Dverrouillage du lecteur Flash

Si le lecteur Flash est protg par un mot de passe, la partition 1 est
automatiquement verrouille si vous retirez le lecteur du port USB ou si
lordinateur passe en veille. Il est alors impossible daccder la partition 1, ni
dy lire ou crire des donnes, tant que le lecteur Flash na pas t dverrouill.
Pour dverrouiller provisoirement le lecteur Flash, procdez comme suit
Cliquez sur le troisime bouton partir de la droite pour dverrouiller

provisoirement la partition.

Le programme vous demande le mot de passe. Si vous ne souhaitez pas

dverrouiller la partition 1, cliquez sur pour annuler lopration.
En cas de saisie dun mot de passe erron, vous avez un maximum de six
tentatives autorises, aprs quoi le lecteur sera format.

E5. Configuration de la taille des partitions

Il est possible de modifier la taille des deux partitions (publique et scurise).
Partition publique

Cliquez sur le bouton du milieu, la base de lapplication LOCK, pour

redimensionner les partitions publique et scurise.
Pour utiliser la fonction Configure Size (redimensionnement), vous devez

avoir dsactiv le mot de passe sil a t dfini. Pour savoir comment dsactiver
le mot de passe, consultez la section E3 de ce guide.
Un message vous prvient que les donnes seront perdues si vous nen avez
pas ralis une sauvegarde. Si vous souhaitez annuler lopration pour effectuer
une sauvegarde de vos donnes, cliquez sur . Sinon, cliquez sur pour
continuer.

Dplacez le pointeur vers la gauche ou la droite pour changer la taille des zones
publique et scurise. (pour la zone publique, la capacit minimale est 2 Mo)
Si vous ne souhaitez pas modifier la taille des zones publique et scurise

actuelles, cliquez sur pour annuler lopration. Sinon, cliquez sur pour
continuer.
Le lecteur Flash est alors format. Veuillez patienter jusqu lapparition du
message Formatting Completed .
Aprs la configuration (redimensionnement et formatage) du lecteur Flash USB,

dconnectez-le du port USB, puis reconnectez-le pour pouvoir lutiliser
nouveau.

Vous pouvez vrifier la nouvelle taille des deux partitions (publique et

scurise).

NB : aprs le redimensionnement, toutes les donnes ont t effaces du

lecteur Flash, mais lapplication de scurit est automatiquement restaure
dans la zone publique.

F. Vrification de la version de lapplication de

scurit LOCK
Il peut tre utile de connatre la version du programme LOCK, par exemple pour
obtenir une assistance technique ou mettre jour lapplication.
Cliquez sur le bouton en haut gauche : la version est affiche.
G. Excution du programme en tant quutilisateur

avec privilges
Certains utilisateurs peuvent voir apparatre lcran suivant.
Dans ce cas, vrifiez que le priphrique est connect et reconnu par Windows.
Consultez la question 3 de la FAS pour plus de dtails.

H. Forum Aux Questions

Q2 Mon systme dexploitation Windows 2000 / XP ou Vista ne dtecte
pas le priphrique.
R2 Aucun pilote de priphrique nest ncessaire avec ces systmes
dexploitation, qui comportent leur propre pilote de priphrique intgr
(USB Mass Storage Class Driver). Si le systme dexploitation ne dtecte
pas le priphrique, il est probable que les pilotes de celui-ci sont
manquants ou altrs. Utilisez le disque dinstallation de Windows pour
restaurer ces fichiers.
NB : sous Windows 2000, utilisez le Service Pack 3 ou une version
ultrieure.
Q3 Le programme LOCK affiche le message Please insert the device or

run this utility as privileged user
R3 Ce problme peut survenir sous Windows 2000 ou Windows XP dans les
deux cas suivants.
Cas n 1 : vous avez oubli dinsrer le lecteur.
Cas n 2 : Avec ces versions de Windows, il est
ncessaire de disposer des privilges de
scurit pour excuter le programme de
scurit LOCK. Si vous navez pas le rle
dadministrateur de cet ordinateur,
ladministrateur peut avoir restreint ces
privilges. Consultez ladministrateur du rseau
ou de lordinateur pour quil vous accorde ces
privilges. Suivez la procdure ci-aprs :
Aprs avoir ouvert une session avec le compte concern, excutez

GPEDIT.MSC dans le menu Dmarrer (vous pouvez aussi utiliser loption
Excuter...). Ouvrez la stratgie de scurit Priphriques : autoris
jecter les supports NTFS amovibles , dans Stratgie dordinateur local
>> Configuration de lordinateur >> Paramtres Windows >> Paramtres
de scurit >> Stratgie locale >> Options de scurit. Faites passer les
droits daccs de Administrateurs et utilisateurs avec pouvoirs
Administrateurs et utilisateurs interactifs .

A. Einfhrung
Herzlichen Glckwunsch zur Wahl des Toshiba USB Hi-Speed Flash -
Laufwerks. Mit diesem Flash-Laufwerk knnen Sie Dateien einfach und schnell
speichern und an Freunde und Kollegen bertragen. Auf Ihrem Flash-Laufwerk
vorinstalliert ist LOCK, ein Sicherheitsanwendungsprogramm. Die Software
bietet Ihnen einen hohen Grad an Sicherheit fr Daten, die auf dem Flash-
Laufwerk gespeichert sind. Sie knnen damit Ihr eigenes Passwort mit maximal
16 Zeichen und anpassbare ffentliche und sichere Bereiche einrichten, um
missbruchliche Verwendung zu verhindern, wenn das Flash-Laufwerk verloren
geht oder gestohlen wird.

D. Verwendung des LOCK

Sicherheitsanwendungsprogramms
Wenn das USB-Flash-Laufwerk an einen USB-Anschluss angeschlossen wird,
sollte das Betriebssystem das Gert erkennen und die zwei Symbole fr
Wechsellaufwerk, Partition 1 und Partition 2, anzeigen. (Die
Laufwerksbuchstaben auf Ihrem Computer knnen sich von den dargestellten
Beispielen unterscheiden.) Das LOCK Programm wird auf Partition 2
gespeichert.
Die Partitionen ermglichen es Ihnen, vertrauliche Dateien getrennt von
anderen Dateien, die Sie freigeben mchten, aufzubewahren. Wenn kein
Passwort zugewiesen ist, kann auf beide Partitionen zugegriffen werden. Sobald
ein Passwort zugewiesen ist, muss fr den Zugriff auf Partition 1 ein Passwort
eingegeben werden.
Partition 1 - Sicherer Bereich

Dieser sichere Bereich ist gesperrt, wenn ein Passwort zugewiesen wurde. Es
kann nur darauf zugegriffen werden, wenn das richtige Passwort eingegeben
wird. Falls kein Passwort zugewiesen wurde, kann sie wie der ffentliche
Bereich auf Partition 2 verwendet werden.
Partition 2 - ffentlicher Bereich

Dieser Bereich ist fr alle Benutzer, die das Flash-Laufwerk verwenden, immer
offen. Benutzer knnen auf diesen Bereich jederzeit Daten schreiben/lesen.

A. Introduccin
Enhorabuena por elegir la unidad Flash USB de alta velocidad de Toshiba. Esta
unidad Flash le permite almacenar y transferir archivos a amigos y compaeros
de trabajo de manera rpida y sencilla. En la unidad flash se encuentra ya
cargado un programa de seguridad denominado LOCK. El software proporcina
un alto nivel de seguridad para los datos almacenados en la unidad flash. Le
permite configurar su propia contrasea de un mximo de 16 caracteres y reas
pblicas y seguras para evitar el uso indebido de la unidad flash en el caso de
que sta se pierda o sea sustrada.
B. Notas
Tenga en cuenta lo siguiente al utilizar LOCK.
1. El programa de seguridad LOCK slo est diseado para sistemas
operativos Windows. No es compabitle con MAC OS ni con Linux.
2. Los usuarios de Windows 2000 debern actualizar al Service Pack 3
(SP3) o Service pack 4 (SP4) antes de utilizar este programa. Inicie una
sesin en Microsoft.com para descargar el service pack.
3. NO conecte ms de UNA unidad flash USB en todo momento mientras
est en ejecucin la aplicacin de seguridad LOCK.
4. Este programa slo funciona con la unidad flash USB de Toshiba.

C. Caractersticas
No requiere disco: el programa LOCK ya est almacenado en la unidad
flash para que no tenga que llevarlo en un CD-ROM o un disquete.
(b) Fcil de usar: el programa LOCK est basado en imgenes e incluye

iconos y descripciones fciles de entender.
(c) Contrasea personalizada: el usuario puede elegir su propia

contrasea de entre 1 y 16 caracteres.
(d) N fijo de reintentos de contrasea : el usuario dispone de un

mximo de 5 oportunidades para introducir la contrasea. Tras introducir la
contrasea incorrectamente por sexta vez, la unidad se formatear para
evitar que otras personas puedan acceder a los datos.
Recordatorio fcil de usar: hay disponible una funcin de pista por si el

usuario olvida su contrasea. Puede configurar su propia pista de
contrasea de un mximo de 32 caracteres.
Compatible con mltiples idiomas: el programa LOCK es compatible con

los idiomas ingls, japons, chino simplificado y chino tradicional. El sistema
operativo detecta automticamente el idioma empleado. La interfaz
predeterminada es en ingls.

D. Utilizacin del programa de seguridad LOCK

Cuando la unidad flash USB se conecta a un puerto USB, el sistema operativo
reconoce el dispositivo y muestra dos iconos de Disco extrable, Particin 1 y
Particin 2. (Las letras de unidad de su ordenador pueden ser diferentes de las
mostradas en los ejemplos.) El programa LOCK est almacenado en la
Particin 2.
Las particiones permite mantener los archivos confidenciales en un lugar
independiente del resto de los archivos que desee compartir. Ambas particiones
son accesibles si no se asigna ninguna contrasea. Una vez asignada una
contrasea, ser necesario introducir una contrasea para acceder a la
particin 1.
Particin 1: rea protegida

Esta rea protegida est bloqueada si se ha asignado una contrasea y slo
puede accederse a ella introduciendo la contrasea correcta. Si no se asigna
ninguna contrasea, podr ser utilizada de la misma forma que el rea pblica
de la particin 2.
Particin 2: rea pblica

Esta rea est siempre abierta a todos los usuarios que utilicen la unidad

Configurar una nueva contrasea

Introduzca la contrasea que desee, pero esta debe tener un mximo de
16 caracteres. Tambin puede introducir una pista de contrasea que le
permitir recordarla en el caso de que la olvide. (32 caracteres como mximo,
incluidos espacios).
Nota: Slo puede introducir letras del alfabeto ingls y nmeros.
Haga clic en la casilla Show Password (mostrar contrasea) para ver los
caracteres que se estn introduciendo.
Pulse para guardar la contrasea y la pista de contrasea. Aparecer el

siguiente mensaje para confirmar que se ha establecido o cambiado la contrasea.

Cambio de contrasea: Para cambiar la contrasea, deber introducir la

contrasea actual. Tambin puede editar la pista de contrasea en cualquier
momento.

Pulse para guardar la contrasea y la pista de contrasea. Aparecer el

Dispone de seis oportunidades para introducir la contrasea correcta antes de

que la unidad flash se formatee. Si ha olvidado la contrasea, haga clic en la

E4. Desbloqueo de la unidad flash

Si la unidad flash est protegida mediante contrasea y se extrae del puerto
USB (o se ha suspendido la alimentacin), la particin 1 de la unidad flash se
bloquear automticamente. No podr acceder, leer ni escribir datos en la
particin 1 a no ser que la unidad flash est desbloqueada.
Siga estos pasos para desbloquear temporalmente la unidad flash
Pulse el tercer botn de la derecha para desbloquear (Unlock) la particin

temporalmente.

Se le pedir que introduzca la contrasea. Pulse para cancelar si no desea

tamao de las reas pblica y protegida.
Antes de utilizar la funcin Configure Size (configurar tamao), deber

desactivarse la contrasea en el caso de que sta se haya configurado. Siga las
instrucciones de la seccin E3 de este manual para desactivar la contrasea.
Aparecer un mensaje de advertencia para informarle de que los datos se

destruirn si no crea una copia de seguridad. Pulse para cancelar la
operacin y crear primero una copia de seguridad de los datos; en caso
contrario, pulse para continuar.

A veces es necesario conocer la versin del programa LOCK, por ejemplo,
si necesita servicio tcnico o tiene que actualizar a una versin ms reciente.
Pulse el botn superior izquierdo para que se muestre la versin.

Algunos usuarios pueden ver esta pantalla.
Compruebe que ha conectado el dispositivo y que el sistema operativo

Windows lo ha reconocido. En caso contrario, sonsulte la Pregunta frecuente P3

P2 El sistema operativo Windows 2000 / XP o Vista no detecta mi
dispositivo. Qu debo hacer?
R2 Dado que no se necesita ningn controlador para estos sistemas
operativos, el dispositivo emplea el controlador incorporado (Dispositivo
de almacenamiento masivo de datos USB) de estos sistemas operativos.
Si el sistema operativo no localiza el dispositivo, es probable que los
archivos de controlador incorporados no estn presentes o estn
daados. Intente recuperar estos archivos del CD original del sistema
operativo Windows.
NOTA: Los usuarios de Windows 2000 debern actualizar al Service
Pack 3 o posterior.
P3 Cuando ejecuto el programa LOCK, ste muestra Please insert the

device or run this utility as privileged user (introduzca el dispositivo
o ejecute esta utilidad como usuario con privilegios).
R3 Este problema puede producirse en Windows 2000 o Windows XP en las
dos situaciones siguientes.
Caso 1: Ha olvidado introducir el dispositivo.
Caso 2: La aplicacin de seguridad LOCK requiere
privilegios de seguridad en estos sistemas
operativos Windows. Si no es usted el
administrador del ordenador, es posible que el
administrador haya restringido estos privilegios.
Consulte a su MIS o al administrador del
ordenador para disponer de estos privilegios.
Siga estos pasos:
Una vez que haya iniciado una sesin con la cuenta afectada, ejecute
GPEDIT.MSC del men Ejecutar (tambin puede utilizar la opcin
Ejecutar como). Localice la directiva de seguridad Dispositivos: Se
permite expulsar medios NTFS extrables, situada en Directiva de equipo
local >> Configuracin del equipo >> Configuracin de Windows >>
Configuracin de seguridad >> Directiva local >> Opciones de seguridad.
Deber cambiar el acceso de Administradores y usuarios avanzados a
Administradores y usuarios interactivos.

A. Introduzione
Congratulazioni per aver scelto lunit flash ad alta velocit USB Toshiba.
Questa unit consente di memorizzare e scambiare file in modo semplice e
rapido con amici e colleghi. Lunit dotata del programma di sicurezza LOCK
precaricato. Questo programma garantisce un elevato livello di sicurezza per i
dati memorizzati nellunit flash. Consente di impostare una propria password
composta da un massimo di 16 caratteri e aree pubblichee protette
personalizzabili per impedire luso improprio dellunit nel caso venga persa o
rubata.
B. Note
Tenere presente quanto segue durante luso di LOCK:
1. Il programma di sicurezza LOCK progettato esclusivamente per i
sistemi operativi Windows. Non compatibile con Mac OS o Linux.
2. Per utilizzare il programma, gli utenti di Windows 2000 devono effettuare
laggiornamento a Service Pack 3 (SP3) o Service Pack 4 (SP4). Per
scaricare il service pack richiesto, accedere al sito Microsoft.com.
3. NON collegare unaltra unit flash USB mentre lapplicazione LOCK in
esecuzione.
4. Questo programma funziona esclusivamente con lunit flash USB
Toshiba.
IMPORTANTE: una volta impostata una password per lunit flash, si hanno a
disposizione 6 tentativi per inserire la password corretta, altrimenti lunit viene
formattata e tutti i dati in essa contenuti vengono cancellati. Si tratta di una
misura di sicurezza prevista per il caso in cui lunit venga persa o cancellata.

C. Caratteristiche
Senza disco - Il programma LOCK memorizzato sullunit flash, pertanto
non necessario trasferirlo su un CD-ROM o un dischetto.
(b) Facile da usare - LOCK un programma grafico, dotato di icone

intuitive e descrizioni semplici.
(c) Password personalizzata - Gli utenti possono scegliere la propria

password da 1 a 16 caratteri.
(d) Numero di tentativi di inserimento password fisso - Gli utenti

possono provare a inserire la password solo 5 volte. Dopo aver digitato la
password errata per la sesta volta, lunit viene formattata per proteggere i
dati dallaccesso di altri utenti.
Promemoria - disponibile una funzione di suggerimento password nel

caso lutente la dimentichi. I suggerimenti password possono contenere fino
a 32 caratteri.
Supporto di pi lingue - Il programma LOCK supporta le seguenti lingue:

inglese, giapponese, cinese semplificato e cinese tradizionale. Il sistema
operativo rileva automaticamente la lingua utilizzata. Linterfaccia predefinita
impostata sullinglese.

D. Uso del programma di sicurezza LOCK

Quando si collega lunit flash USB a una porta USB, il sistema operativo
dovrebbe riconoscere il dispositivo e mostrare le due icone Disco rimovibile,
partizione 1 e partizione 2. (Le lettere delle unit del proprio computer
potrebbero essere diverse da quelle mostrate negli esempi.) Il programma
LOCK memorizzato nella partizione 2.
Le partizioni consentono di tenere separati file riservati da altri file da
condividere. Se non si assegna alcuna password, entrambe le partizioni sono
accessibili. Una volta assegnata una password, necessario inserirla per
accedere alla partizione 1.
Partizione 1 - Area protetta

Questa area protetta bloccata se stata assegnata una password e vi si pu
accedere solo digitando la password corretta. Se non si assegna alcuna
password, questarea pu essere utilizzata come larea pubblica della
partizione 2.
Partizione 2 - Area pubblica

Questarea sempre aperta a tutti gli utenti che utilizzano lunit flash. Gli
utenti possono leggere/scrivere dati in questarea in qualsiasi momento. Il
programma LOCK memorizzato in questa partizione. La protezione mediante
password si applica esclusivamente alla partizione 1 e non ha effetto sulla
partizione 2.

Impostazione di una nuova password

Specificare una password contenente al massimo 16 caratteri. possibile
inserire anche un suggerimento password che aiuti a ricordare la password nel
caso la si dimentichi. (Al massimo 32 caratteri inclusi gli spazi.)
NB: si possono inserire solo numeri e lettere inglesi.
Fare clic sulla casella Show Password (Mostra password) per vedere i caratteri
digitati
Premere per salvare la password e il suggerimento password. Verr

visualizzato il messaggio seguente che conferma che la password stata
impostata o modificata.
NOTA: lunit flash viene bloccata automaticamente quando viene rimossa dalla
porta USB o se si verifica uninterruzione di corrente.
Premere per annullare la procedura di impostazione e non salvare la

password e il suggerimento password.
NOTA: una volta impostata una password, si hanno a disposizione 6 tentativi per
inserire la password corretta, altrimenti lunit viene formattata

Modifica della password: Per modificare la password, necessario inserire

quella corrente. Allo stesso tempo possibile modificare anche il suggerimento
password.
Fare clic sulla casella Show Password (Mostra password) per vedere i caratteri
digitati.
Premere per salvare la password e il suggerimento password. Verr

visualizzato il messaggio seguente che conferma che la password stata
impostata o modificata. Lunit flash viene bloccata automaticamente quando
viene rimossa dalla porta USB o se si verifica uninterruzione di corrente.
Premere per annullare la procedura di modifica della password e mantenere

la password e il suggerimento password correnti.

E3. Rimozione della password
Per modificare la password, necessario inserire quella corrente.

Premere il secondo pulsante a destra per rimuovere la password.
Premere per annullare la procedura se non si desidera rimuovere la
password e il suggerimento password correnti.
Si hanno a disposizione sei tentativi per inserire la password corretta, altrimenti

lunit viene formattata. Se si dimentica la password, fare clic sul suggerimento
password, che dovrebbe aiutare a ricordarla. ricorda la password.

Se si digita la password errata per la quinta volta, viene visualizzato il

E4. Sblocco dellunit flash

Se lunit flash protetta da password e viene rimossa dalla porta USB (o si
verifica uninterruzione di corrente), la partizione 1 dellunit viene bloccata
automaticamente. Non sar quindi possibile accedere n leggere o scrivere dati
sulla partizione 1, finch lunit flash non verr sbloccata.
Per sbloccare temporaneamente lunit flash, procedere come descritto di
seguito
Premere il terzo pulsante a destra per sbloccare temporaneamente la

partizione.

Viene richiesto di inserire la password. Premere per annullare se non si

desidera sbloccare la partizione 1.
Si hanno a disposizione sei tentativi per inserire la password corretta, altrimenti

lunit viene formattata.

Una volta inserita la password corretta, la partizione 1 sar disponibile finch

lunit flash non verr rimossa dalla porta USB o non si verificher

leggere e scrivere dati sulla partizione.

E5. Configurazione delle dimensioni delle partizioni

possibile modificare le dimensioni delle due partizioni (pubblica e protetta).

Per ridimensionare le aree pubblica e protetta, premere il pulsante al centro in

basso del programma LOCK.
Prima di utilizzare la funzione di ridimensionamento Configure Size (Configura

dimensioni), necessario disabilitare la password eventualmente impostata. Per
disabilitare la password, seguire la sezione E3 di questo manuale.
Viene visualizzato un messaggio di avvertenza che informa che i dati verranno

distrutti se non si effettua il backup. Premere per annullare loperazione ed
effettuare prima il backup dei dati oppure premere per continuare.

Spostare il puntatore a sinistra o a destra per modificare le dimensioni delle aree

pubblica e protetta. (La capacit minima per larea pubblica di 2 MB.)
Premere per annullare loperazione se non si desidera modificare le aree

oppure premere per continuare.
Lunit flash viene formattata. Attendere finch non viene visualizzato il
messaggio Formatting Completed (Formattazione completata).
In seguito alla configurazione (ridimensionamento e formattazione) dellunit

flash USB, rimuoverla dalla porta USB e ricollegarla prima di utilizzarla di nuovo.

F. Verifica della versione del programma di

sicurezza LOCK
In alcuni casi, necessario conoscere la versione del programma LOCK, ad
esempio se si necessita di supporto tecnico per effettuare laggiornamento a una
versione pi recente.
Premere il pulsante in alto a sinistra e la versione verr visualizzata.
G. Esecuzione del programma come utente con

privilegi
possibile che per alcuni utenti venga visualizzata questa schermata.
Verificare che il dispositivo sia collegato e che il sistema operativo Windows

labbia riconosciuto. In alternativa, vedere la domanda frequente D3 per ulteriori
dettagli.

H. Domande frequenti
D2 Il mio sistema operativo Windows 2000/XP o Vista non ha rilevato il
dispositivo, cosa posso fare?
R2 Poich tali sistemi operativi non richiedono driver, il dispositivo utilizza il
driver incorporato di questi sistemi (Driver di archiviazione di massa USB).
Se il sistema operativo non riesce a rilevare il dispositivo, molto
probabile che i file del driver incorporato siano assenti o danneggiati.
Provare a ripristinare questi file dal CD originale del sistema operativo
Windows.
NB: gli utenti di Windows 2000 devono effettuare laggiornamento a
Service Pack 3 o superiore.
D3 Al momento dellesecuzione del programma LOCK, viene

visualizzato il messaggio Please insert the device or run this utility
as privileged user (Inserire il dispositivo o eseguire lutilit come
utente con privilegi)
R3 Questo problema pu verificarsi in Windows 2000 e Windows XP nei due
casi seguenti.
Caso 1: Il dispositivo non stato inserito.
Caso 2: Il programma di sicurezza LOCK richiede
privilegi di sicurezza in questi sistemi operativi
Windows. Se non si lamministratore del
computer, tali privilegi possono essere stati
limitati dallamministratore. Rivolgersi al MIS o
allamministratore del computer per farsi
concedere i privilegi. Eseguire le seguenti
operazioni:
Una volta effettuato laccesso allaccount interessato, eseguire

GPEDIT.MSC dal menu Esegui ( possibile anche utilizzare lopzione

A. Introduo
Parabns por ter optado pela Unidade Flash USB Hi-Speed da TOSHIBA. Esta
Unidade Flash permite-lhe armazenar ficheiros com facilidade e rapidez, bem
como transferi-los para amigos ou colegas de trabalho. A Aplicao de
Segurana LOCK encontra-se j pr-instalada na Unidade Flash. Trata-se de
um software que proporciona um elevado nvel de segurana para os dados que
estiverem guardados na Unidade Flash. Permite-lhe definir a sua prpria
palavra-passe com um mximo de 16 caracteres, bem como uma rea pblica e
uma rea segura, para ajudar a impedir a utilizao dos dados no caso de
perder ou de lhe roubarem a Unidade Flash.
B. Notas
Tenha em ateno o seguinte quando utilizar o programa LOCK:
1. A Aplicao de Segurana LOCK foi concebida para trabalhar apenas
em sistemas operativos Windows. No compatvel com MAC OS ou
Linux.
2. Os utilizadores de Windows 2000 tero de fazer a actualizao para o
Service Pack 3 (SP3) ou Service Pack 4 (SP4) antes de utilizarem este
programa. Por favor aceda ao site Microsoft.com para fazer o download
destes pacotes de actualizao.
3. NO pode ter mais do que UMA Unidade Flash USB ligada quando
executar a Aplicao de Segurana LOCK.
4. Este programa apenas funcionar com a Unidade Flash Toshiba.
IMPORTANTE: Assim que estiver definida uma palavra-passe na Unidade

Flash, esta ser formatada automaticamente aps a introduo de 6 palavras-
passe erradas, sendo apagados todos os dados que existam na Unidade Flash.
Isto uma precauo de segurana para o caso de perder ou de lhe roubarem
a Unidade Flash.

C. Caractersticas
Sem necessidade de disco s o programa LOCK encontra-se guardado
na Unidade Flash, pelo que no necessrio ter o programa num CD-ROM
ou numa disquete parte.
(b) Fcil de opera r o programa LOCK utiliza cones fceis de entender

e descries simples.
(c) Palavra-passe personalizad a o utilizador pode escolher a sua

prpria palavra-passe, que pode ter de 1 a 16 caracteres.
(d) Limite fixo de tentativas para a palavra-pass e o utilizador apenas

dispe de 5 possibilidades de errar a palavra-passe. Aps introduzir uma
palavra-passe incorrecta pela sexta vez, a unidade formatada para impedir
o acesso de terceiros aos dados.
Auxiliar de memri a est disponvel uma funo de auxiliar de memria

para o caso de o utilizador se esquecer da palavra-passe. O utilizador pode
definir uma pista para a palavra-passe com at 32 caracteres.
Vrios idioma s o programa LOCK est disponvel em Ingls, Japons,

Chins simplificado e Chins tradicional. O idioma utilizado pelo sistema
operativo detectado automaticamente. O idioma predefinido o Ingls.

D. Utilizar a Aplicao de Segurana LOCK

Quando a Unidade Flash USB introduzida numa porta USB do computador,
o sistema operativo reconhece o dispositivo e apresenta dois cones de Disco
amovvel: Partition 1 e Partition 2. (As letras atribudas s unidades no seu
computador podero ser diferentes das que so apresentadas nos exemplos.)
O programa LOCK encontra-se armazenado na partio 2 (Partition 2).
A existncia de duas parties permite-lhe manter os ficheiros confidenciais
separados dos ficheiros que pretende partilhar. Se no estiver definida uma
palavra-passe, possvel aceder livremente a qualquer partio. Assim que
definir uma palavra-passe, passar a ter de a introduzir para aceder
partio 1.
Partio 1 rea segura

Se estiver definida uma palavra-passe, esta rea segura fica bloqueada e
apenas poder aceder-lhe aps introduzir a mesma palavra-passe. Se no
estiver definida uma palavra-passe, esta rea pode ser utilizada tal como a
partio 2.
Partio 2 rea pblica

Esta rea est sempre aberta para quem utilizar a Unidade Flash. Os
utilizadores podem ler ou gravar dados nesta rea em qualquer altura. O
programa LOCK encontra-se armazenado nesta partio. A segurana
proporcionada pela palavra-passe apenas se aplica partio 1, no afectando
a partio 2.

E. Configurar a Aplicao de SeguranaLOCK

E1. Ecr principal
Passe com o ponteiro do rato sobre os cones para ver a descrio das
respectivas funes.
E2. Definir a palavra-passe / alterar a palavra-passe
Prima o boto superior direito para definir ou alterar a sua palavra-passe.

Definir uma nova palavra-passe

Introduza uma palavra-passe sua escolha, utilizando um mximo de 16
caracteres. Tambm pode introduzir uma pista para a sua palavra-passe, para
servir de auxiliar de memria no caso de se esquecer da palavra-passe.
(Mximo de 32 caracteres, incluindo espaos.)
Nota: Apenas so aceites letras do alfabeto Ingls e algarismos.
Clique na caixa Show Password (mostrar a palavra-passe) para ver o que est
a digitar.
Prima para guardar a palavra-passe e a respectiva pista. Surgir a seguinte

mensagem para confirmar que a nova palavra-passe ficou definida.
NOTA: A Unidade Flash ficar automaticamente bloqueada se for retirada da
porta USB ou se houver alguma interrupo na alimentao elctrica.
Prima para cancelar o procedimento de configurao se no desejar guardar

a palavra-passe e a respectiva pista.
NOTA: Aps definir uma palavra-passe, dispor de apenas 6 tentativas para
introduzir a palavra-passe correcta. Se falhar seis vezes, a Unidade Flash ser
formatada.

Alterar a palavra-passe: Para poder alterar a palavra-passe, tem de introduzir

a palavra-passe actual. Tambm pode alterar a pista para a palavra-passe na
mesma operao.
Clique na caixa Show Password (mostrar a palavra-passe) para ver o que est
a digitar.
Prima para guardar a palavra-passe e a respectiva pista. Surgir a seguinte

mensagem para confirmar que a nova palavra-passe ficou definida. A Unidade
Flash ficar automaticamente bloqueada se for retirada da porta USB ou se
houver alguma interrupo na alimentao elctrica.
Prima para cancelar o procedimento de alterao da palavra-passe se

desejar manter a palavra-passe e a pista actuais.

E3. Remover a palavra-passe
Para poder alterar a palavra-passe, tem de introduzir a palavra-passe actual.

Prima o segundo boto da direita para remover a palavra-passe.
Prima para cancelar se no desejar remover a palavra-passe e a respectiva
pista.
Dispe de seis possibilidades para introduzir a palavra-passe correcta. Se

exceder este nmero, a Unidade flash ser formatada. Se se esquecer da
palavra-passe, clique em Password hint (pista para a palavra-passe) e veja se
consegue lembrar-se dela. Recorda-lhe a palavra-passe.

Se for introduzida uma palavra-passe incorrecta pela quinta vez, surgir a

seguinte mensagem.
Se for introduzida uma palavra-passe incorrecta pela sexta vez, a Unidade

Flash ser formatada.
Se se esquecer da palavra-passe, clique em Password hint (pista para a

palavra-passe) e veja se consegue lembrar-se dela.
Introduza a palavra-passe correcta e esta ser removida.

E4. Desbloquear a Unidade Flash

Se a Unidade Flash estiver protegida com uma palavra-passe e for removida da
porta USB (ou se houver uma interrupo da alimentao elctrica), a partio 1
da Unidade Flash ficar automaticamente bloqueada. Apenas conseguir
aceder partio 1, para ler ou guardar dados nela, se a Unidade Flash estiver
desbloqueada.
Siga estes passos para desbloquear a Unidade Flash temporariamente:
Prima o terceiro boto da direita para desbloquear a partio temporariamente.

O programa ir pedir-lhe que introduza a palavra-passe. Prima para

cancelar, caso no deseje desbloquear a partio 1.
Dispe de seis possibilidades para introduzir a palavra-passe correcta. Se

exceder este nmero, a Unidade flash ser formatada.

Se for introduzida uma palavra-passe incorrecta pela quinta vez, surgir a

seguinte mensagem.
Se for introduzida uma palavra-passe incorrecta pela sexta vez, a Unidade

Flash ser formatada.

Assim que for introduzida a palavra-passe correcta, a partio 1 ficar

temporariamente disponvel enquanto a Unidade Flash no for removida da
porta USB e a alimentao elctrica no for interrompida. Quando a partio 1
est desbloqueada, pode ler e guardar dados nela.

P2 O meu sistema operativo Windows 2000, XP ou Vista no consegue
detectar o dispositivo. O que que posso fazer?
R2 No so necessrios controladores (drivers) adicionais para estes
sistemas operativos. O dispositivo utiliza o controlador incorporado
(controlador para dispositivos de armazenamento em massa USB) nestes
sistemas operativos. Se o seu sistema operativo no conseguir identificar
o dispositivo, o mais provvel que os ficheiros do controlador
incorporado estejam corrompidos ou em falta. Tente recuperar estes
ficheiros recorrendo ao CD do sistema operativo Windows.
NOTA: Os utilizadores do sistema operativo Windows 2000 devem
fazer a actualizao para o Service Pack 3 ou posterior.
P3 Quando inicio o programa LOCK, surge a mensagem Please insert

A. Inleiding
Bedankt dat u hebt gekozen voor het Toshiba USB Hi-Speed-flashstation. Met
dit flashstation kunt u bestanden snel en gemakkelijk opslaan en delen met
vrienden en collegas. Het beveiligingsprogramma LOCK is vooraf op het
flashstation genstalleerd. Deze software biedt een hoge mate van beveiliging
voor de gegevens die zijn opgeslagen op het flashstation. Hiermee kunt u uw
eigen wachtwoord van maximaal zestien tekens en aanpasbare openbare en
beveiligde gebieden instellen. Zo kunt u misbruik voorkomen als u het
flashstation kwijtraakt of als het wordt gestolen.
B. Opmerkingen
Houd rekening met het volgende wanneer u LOCK gebruikt:
1. Het beveiligingsprogramma LOCK is uitsluitend bedoeld voor het
besturingssysteem Windows. Het is niet compatibel met MAC OS of
Linux.
2. Gebruikers met Windows 2000 moeten een upgrade uitvoeren naar
Service Pack 3 (SP3) of Service pack 4 (SP4) voordat ze dit programma
kunnen gebruiken. Ga naar Microsoft.com om het servicepack te
downloaden.
3. Sluit GEEN ander USB-flashstation aan terwijl het
beveiligingsprogramma LOCK wordt uitgevoerd.
4. Dit programma werkt alleen met het USB-flashstation van Toshiba.
BELANGRIJK: Nadat u een wachtwoord hebt ingesteld voor het flashstation,

krijgt u zes kansen om het wachtwoord correct in te voeren. Daarna wordt het
flashstation geformatteerd, waarbij alle gegevens op het station worden gewist.
Dit is een veiligheidsmaatregel voor het geval u het flashstation kwijtraakt of als
het wordt gestolen.

C. Voorzieningen
Geen schijf het programma LOCK is opgeslagen op het flashstation,
zodat u het programma niet hoeft te installeren vanaf een cd-rom of diskette.
(b) Eenvoudig te bedienen het programma LOCK werkt met

gemakkelijk te begrijpen pictogrammen en eenvoudige beschrijvingen.
(c) Aangepast wachtwoord gebruikers kunnen hun eigen wachtwoord

kiezen van n teken tot maximaal 16 tekens.
(d) Vast aantal wachtwoordpogingen gebruikers kunnen het

wachtwoord maximaal vijfmaal invoeren. Nadat het wachtwoord voor de
zesde maal verkeerd wordt ingevoerd, wordt het station geformatteerd om te
voorkomen dat de gegevens toegankelijk zijn voor anderen.
Herinnering er is een wachtwoordhint beschikbaar voor het geval de

gebruiker zijn of haar wachtwoord vergeet. De gebruiker kan zijn eigen
wachtwoordhint van maximaal 32 tekens instellen.
Ondersteuning van meerdere talen het programma LOCK ondersteunt

de talen Engels, Japans, Vereenvoudigd Chinees en Traditioneel Chinees.
Het besturingssysteem detecteert automatisch de gebruikte taal. De
standaardtaal is Engels.

D. Het beveiligingsprogramma LOCK gebruiken

Wanneer het USB-flashstation wordt aangesloten op een USB-poort, zou het
besturingssysteem het apparaat moeten herkennen en twee pictogrammen
voor een verwisselbare schijf moeten weergeven voor partitie 1 en partitie 2.
(De stationsletters op uw computer kunnen afwijken van de letters in de
voorbeelden.) Het programma LOCK is opgeslagen in partitie 2.
Dankzij deze partities kunt u vertrouwelijke bestanden gescheiden houden van
andere bestanden die u wilt delen. Als geen wachtwoord is toegewezen, zijn
beide partities toegankelijk. Nadat een wachtwoord is toegewezen, moet u een
wachtwoord invoeren om toegang te krijgen tot partitie 1.
Partitie 1 Beveiligd gedeelte

Dit beveiligde gedeelte wordt vergrendeld wanneer een wachtwoord is
toegewezen en is alleen toegankelijk nadat het juiste wachtwoord is ingevoerd.
Als er geen wachtwoord is toegewezen, kan deze partitie op dezelfde manier
worden gebruikt als het openbare gedeelte in partitie 2.
Partitie 2 Openbaar gedeelte

Dit gedeelte staat altijd open voor alle gebruikers van het flashstation.
Gebruikers kunnen altijd gegevens in dit gedeelte lezen/schrijven. Het
programma LOCK is opgeslagen in deze partitie. Wachtwoordbeveiliging is
alleen van toepassing op partitie 1 en niet op partitie 2.

Plaats de muisaanwijzer op een pictogram om een beschrijving van de functie

ervan weer te geven.

Klik op de knop rechtsboven om het wachtwoord in te stellen of te wijzigen.

Een nieuw wachtwoord instellen

Voer het gewenste wachtwoord van maximaal 16 tekens in. U kunt ook een
wachtwoordhint invoeren die u helpt uw wachtwoord te herinneren indien u dit
vergeet (maximaal 32 tekens, inclusief spaties).
Let op: U kunt alleen Engelse letters en cijfers invoeren.
Klik op het vakje Show Password (Wachtwoord tonen) als u wilt zien wat u typt.
Klik op om het wachtwoord en de wachtwoordhint op te slaan. Het volgende

bericht wordt weergegeven ter bevestiging dat het wachtwoord is ingesteld of
gewijzigd.
OPMERKING: Het flashstation wordt automatisch vergrendeld wanneer u dit uit
de USB-poort verwijderd of als de stroom wordt onderbroken.
Klik op om de configuratieprocedure te annuleren als u geen wachtwoord en

Klik op de tweede knop rechts om het wachtwoord te verwijderen.
Klik op om te annuleren als u het huidige wachtwoord en de wachtwoordhint
niet wilt verwijderen.
U krijgt zes kansen om het wachtwoord correct in te voeren voordat het

flashstation wordt geformatteerd. Als u uw wachtwoord bent vergeten, klikt u op
de wachtwoordhint en kijkt u of deze u aan uw wachtwoord herinnert.

Als u voor de vijfde maal een onjuist wachtwoord invoert, wordt het volgende
bericht weergegeven.
Als u voor de zesde maal een onjuist wachtwoord invoert, wordt het flashstation
geformatteerd.
Als u uw wachtwoord bent vergeten, klikt u op de wachtwoordhint en kijkt u of

deze u aan uw wachtwoord herinnert.
Voer het juiste wachtwoord in, waarna het wachtwoord wordt verwijderd.

E4. Het flashstation ontgrendelen

Als het flashstation met een wachtwoord is beveiligd en uit de USB-poort wordt
verwijderd (of als de stroom wordt onderbroken), wordt partitie 1 op het
flashstation automatisch vergrendeld. U hebt geen toegang tot partitie 1 en kunt
geen gegevens op partitie 1 lezen of schrijven, tenzij het flashstation wordt
ontgrendeld.
Voer deze stappen uit om het flashstation tijdelijk te ontgrendelen.
Klik op de derde knop rechts om de partitie tijdelijk te ontgrendelen.

U wordt gevraagd om uw wachtwoord. Klik op om te annuleren als u partitie

1 niet wilt ontgrendelen.
U krijgt zes kansen om het wachtwoord correct in te voeren voordat het

flashstation wordt geformatteerd.

U kunt de grootte van de twee partities (openbaar en beveiligd) wijzigen.

Klik op de middelste knop onder in het programma LOCK als u de grootte van
de openbare en beveiligde partities wilt wijzigen.
Voordat u de functie Configure Size (Grootte configureren) kunt gebruiken,

moet u het wachtwoord uitschakelen als er een wachtwoord is ingesteld. Voer
de stappen in deel E3 van deze handleiding uit om het wachtwoord uit te
schakelen.
Er wordt een waarschuwing weergegeven waarin wordt vermeld dat de

gegevens worden vernietigd als u er geen reservekopie van maakt. Klik op
als u de bewerking wilt annuleren en een reservekopie van uw gegevens wilt
maken. Klik anders op om verder te gaan.

Verplaats de aanwijzer naar links of naar rechts om de grootte van het openbare
en beveiligde gedeelte te wijzigen. (De minimale grootte voor het openbare
gedeelte is 2 MB.)
Klik op om de bewerking te annuleren als u het huidige openbare en

beveiligde gedeelte niet wilt wijzigen. Klik anders op om verder te gaan.
Het flashstation wordt geformatteerd. Wacht totdat het bericht Formatting
completed (Formatteren voltooid) verschijnt.
Nadat het USB-flashstation is geconfigureerd (grootte ingesteld en

geformatteerd), verwijdert u het station uit de USB-poort en sluit u het opnieuw
aan voordat u het opnieuw gebruikt.

In sommige gevallen moet u de versie van het programma LOCK weten,
bijvoorbeeld als u technische ondersteuning nodig hebt of een upgrade wilt
uitvoeren naar een nieuwere versie.

G. Het programma uitvoeren als gemachtigd

gebruiker
Sommige gebruikers zien dit scherm.
Controleer of u het apparaat hebt aangesloten en het besturingssysteem Windows

het apparaat heeft herkend. Raadpleeg anders vraag V3 voor meer informatie.

H. FAQ Veelgestelde vragen

V2 Windows 2000 / XP of Vista kan mijn apparaat niet detecteren.
Wat moet ik doen?
A2 Aangezien er geen stuurprogrammas zijn vereist voor deze
besturingssystemen, gebruikt het apparaat het ingebouwde
stuurprogramma (Stuurprogramma voor USB-massaopslag) van deze
besturingssystemen. Als het besturingssysteem het apparaat niet kan
vinden, komt dit zeer waarschijnlijk doordat de bestanden van het
ingebouwde stuurprogramma ontbreken of beschadigd zijn. Probeer deze
bestanden te herstellen vanaf de originele Windows-cd.
Let op: Gebruikers van Windows 2000 dienen een upgrade uit te
voeren naar servicepack 3 of later.
V3 Wanneer ik het programma LOCK uitvoer, wordt het bericht Please

insert the device or run this utility as privileged user (Plaats het
apparaat of voer dit programma uit als gemachtigde gebruiker)
weergegeven.
V3 Dit probleem kan zich voordoen in Windows 2000 of Windows XP in de
volgende twee gevallen.
Geval 1: U bent vergeten het apparaat te plaatsen.
Geval 2: Het beveiligingsprogramma LOCK vereist
beveiligingsmachtigingen in deze Windows-
besturingssystemen. Als u niet de beheerder
van de computer bent, zijn deze machtigingen
mogelijk beperkt door de beheerder. Neem
contact op met de beheerder van de computer
over het instellen van de juiste machtigingen.
