Growing up, I was heavily involved in mission work and church life. I was raised in a
Christian household by two God fearing parents that served the Lord with their entire being. As a
child I watched as my father worked tirelessly as a youth pastor and over seer of several
ministries and still managed to have a healthy prosperous marriage and home life. I knew right
from wrong at an early age, but did not grow a true understanding of who Jesus was until third
grade. That is when I chose to follow Him and serve Him for the rest of my life. I am in love
with God and believe He is my savior and true protector. I grew in my relationship with Christ
Through my faith and personal choice to serve God, I have been taken to the ends of the
earth to serve Him. Growing up in missions allowed me to see the many ways God works in the
lives of his children. He teaches us how to be followers of Christ and encourages our growth.
God provides guidance and understanding and reprimands us when needed. Every aspect of my
life has been hand crafted by my faith. God has guided me through good and bad times, always
protecting me. My personal relationship with the Lord has made me a strong and independent
God fearing woman. This relationship has made me the person I am today and has guided me
from the beginning into the career that God had destined for me.
As God led me into teaching, I always sought after Him. Who better to teach me about
teaching then the Lord. God is the ultimate teacher. Because of this, I want my faith to be the
center of my teaching. I want to allow my personal relationship with God to flourish through
each lesson. I grew up hearing that I may be the only bible or traces of God that the people I
interact with will experience. I want to be a light for my students. Providing them with a safe

A verse that continuously comes up in my life is Mark 16:15 Go out into all the world
and preach the gospel to all creation. God is calling his people to go and teach His word. He
wants all of his children to know of Him. This is what I am called for in life. My audience is my
students my world will be my classroom. God is placing me with young hearts and minds to
teach. I am not only teaching them academics but I am teaching them of the love of Christ
through my actions and words. I am hearing Gods call and going out and teaching the gospel. It
may not be through missions or preaching directly, but it is through my work as a teacher.
