Students will learn about volcanoes and how they erupt.

II. Home Based Study DAY 1


Students watch PowToon located on the classroom website. Students are to listen and watch the video
carefully keeping in mind that there is a quiz over the video the next day in class.

III.In-Class Lesson Study DAY 2


Anticipatory Set
Allow students to talk at their table about the information in the PowToon
Teacher will highlight main points of the video to the whole class and takes questions
from the class that they didnt understand
Clickers will be used for the 5 question quiz over the PowToon

IV.Purpose:
Help students to learn about our earth and the volcanoes on earth. Volcanoes are also a part of the
standards that are required.

V. Lesson Presentation (Input/Output) (40 minutes)

Activity: Making our own volcanoes


Students will construct their own volcanoes
Using: construction paper, tissue paper, and glue
Students will also be asked questions during this time about the volcano and what it is (review)
Students may also ask question during this time about the construction of the volcano or the
video material
