HIGH-PERFORMANCE,

LAYING DIVISION PROFESSIONAL ADHESIVES

Professional, superior-technology,
two-component polyurethane system
with high elasticity and no vertical slip,
suitable for high-resistance laying on
flooring and walls of homogeneous tiles,
glass mosaic, ceramic tiles, large-format tiling,
marble or natural stone which are sensitive to
humidity, on deformable and also non-absorbent
substrates, wood and derivatives.

SUPERFLEX
EN 12004
Class R2 T
IN COMPLIANCE
WITH EUROPEAN
REGULATION

SUPERIOR ELASTICITY AND ADHESION The SUPERFLEX technology ensures superior-

performance adhesion for laying ceramic tiles and natural stone on porous surfaces such as
concrete or wood and non-porous surfaces such glass or metal. SUPERFLEX provides balanced thi-
xotropy and superior-performance elasticity ensured by the use of stabilised polyurethane resins
and micronised, pure mineral fillers, for rapid and secure laying operations on high
deformable and high-expansion substrates.
IDEAL FOR WATER-SENSITIVE MARBLE The high degree of sensibility to water of
certain types of marble and natural stone makes it necessary to use thermo-hardening
technology adhesives. The technological superiority of SUPERFLEX provides high-
resistance adhesion, which impedes the formation of stains and concave deformation
of paving materials which are more sensitive to water, ensuring the stability of their
chemical-physical structure and the integrity of aesthetic characteristics.
NO VERTICAL SLIP Diagonal laying, with a top-down sequence of
progression, of ceramic tiles and marble tiling with high thicknesses and large
formats requires immediate adhesion to ensure the covering materials are
supported, while maintaining a long adjustability time. The SUPERFLEX
technology provides thixotropic rheological properties and no vertical
slip, ensured by reactive co-polymers with thixotropizing action.

SUPERFLEX
AREAS OF USE
High-elasticity laying of ceramic tiles, homogeneous tiles, marble and natural stone, on
flooring and walls, on absorbent and non-absorbent, deformable substrates.
Materials:
- homogeneous tiles, ceramic tiles, klinker, cotto, glass and ceramic mosaic, natural stone,
marble, granite and recomposed materials also subject to staining or deformation due to
water absorption and thermal expansion
Substrates:
- cement-based screeds and screeds produced with REKORD and KERACEM as binder or
ready-mixed
- prefabricated concrete or fresh concrete castings
- cement plasters and cement-lime mortar
- flooring and walls in polyurethane resin, glazed tiles, cement-based and resin floor tiles,
stoneware
- wood, metals, rubber, PVC, linoleum
Use
Flooring and walls, indoor/outdoor use, in civil, industrial and commercial applications, for street furniture or
underfloor heating systems, also in areas subject to thermal shock and freezing.
Do not use
In contact with polystyrene or on substrates which are not perfectly dry and subject to moisture rising.

PREPARATION OF SUBSTRATES
The substrate must be compact and uniform, free from dust, oil and grease, free from any rising damp, with no
loose, flaky, or imperfectly anchored parts. The substrate must be stable, without cracks and have already
completed the curing period of hygrometric shrinkage. Non-planar areas must be corrected with suitable
smoothing and finishing products.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Preparation
SUPERFLEX is prepared by mixing together parts A and B from the bottom upwards, using a low-rev (
400/min.) helicoidal agitator, respecting the preset ratio of 9.4:0.6 of the packaging. Pour part B into the pale
containing part A, making sure the two parts are mixed together homogeneously until a mixture of uniform
consistency and colour is obtained. The user must mix a quantity of adhesive which can be consumed within 1
hour at +23 C / 50% R.H. Packs of SUPERFLEX must be stored at a temperature of +20 C for at least 2-3
days prior to use.
Application
SUPERFLEX must be applied with a suitable, toothed smooth spreader of the type and dimensions most
appropriate for the format and type of tiles used. Using the smooth part of the spreader, apply a fine layer of
product, pressing down onto the substrate in order to ensure maximum adhesion. Press down each tile to allow
for maximum coverage of the surface. In environments subject to heavy traffic, in outdoor locations and
wherever high-elasticity laying system is required, use the double-spread technique to ensure 100% application
of the product to the rear of the tiles.
Cleaning
Residual traces of SUPERFLEX can be removed from tools and covered surfaces with water and alcohol while
the adhesive is still fresh. Once hardened, the adhesive can only be removed by mechanical means.

SPECIAL NOTES
To waterproof a monolithic concrete substrate, a surface levelling coat of 2 mm thickness must be applied with
the smooth part of the spreader. Then, adjust the thickness with the toothed side and apply a layer of SUPERFLEX
also on the back of each tile before laying.

ABSTRACT
High-resistance laying of homogeneous tiles, marble, granite and ceramic tiles must be performed with a professional, two-
component, superior-technology polyurethane system with high-elasticity and high adhesive power and no vertical slip,
compliant with EN 12004 Class R2 T, such as SUPERFLEX manufactured by Kerakoll. The substrate must be clean, free
from any loose, flaky parts and adequately matured. A ____ mm toothed spreader must be used for an average coverage
of ___ kg/m2. Create elastic fractionizing joints every ___ m2. Tiles must be laid with joints of ___ mm width.

KERAKOLL QUALITY STANDARD

In all units of the Kerakoll Group, before being considered suitable for
production, products undergo stringent testing in accordance with the very
high requirements set by the Kerakoll Quality Standard: a process supported
by the Centre for Applied Technology which assists the work of researchers
with its sophisticated resources and laboratories. At the Kerakoll
laboratories the various elements of formulations are carefully analysed to
identify and eliminate any factors of weakness by means of simulation of
real working conditions in building sites After the testing cycles, the new
products are submitted to the extreme fatigue of the Safety-Test process.

EUROPEAN CONFORMITY REGULATIONS

The Kerakoll testing and quality-control methodology complies with the
tests indicated by the new European Regulations, which represent a long-
overdue step forward in the standardisation of the current European
regulatory system. This new standard of conformity for the field of
adhesives and grouts for ceramic tiles and natural stone once again
confirms the technological superiority of Kerakoll products.

SAFETY, HEALTH AND THE ENVIRONMENT

For an industrial system such as Kerakoll it is vitally important to ensure
that human health and the environment are protected. The Kerakoll
company policy is to ensure that every possible safeguard be taken to
make sure that these factors are always considered, and regulations and
specific methods have been developed over the years for this purpose at
all levels of the organisation. The CARE Project is the result of the Group's
concern for human health and the environment, and ensures that the
Group's products are perfectly safe for use and that the building materials
supplied to builders ensure a very high level of safety before, during and
after their use.

The information given here is based on our technical and practical knowledge. As it is not possible for us
to directly check the conditions in your building yards and the execution of the work, this information
represents general indications that do not bind our Company in any way. Therefore, it is advisable to
perform a preliminary test to verify the suitability of the product for your purposes.
