Advantages

1. Strong (technical) review of any changes to the project internally within

the function.
2. Experienced manpower- has a good command of companys objectives/
goals working on multiple projects for their company.

Disadvantages:

1. Cross functional communications delay- any change requests should be

first approved by the functional manager and then passed over to other
functional managers.
2. The overall budget includes for both functional activities and new projects.
Additional budget resources/ approvals to the project (especially
improvements or modifications) could be more difficult.
3. Mobilization of companys permanent manpower to project work sites
could be a challenge.

Projectized

Advantages

1. Strong manpower dedicated to the project. Fully capable of understanding

the project requirements.
2. Mobilization of manpower to the project sites could be quick if planning is
well.
3. Communications exchange is quick and all the project team members
understand the current position of the project and risks. Good opportunity
for all members to utilize their experience resolving complex issues.
4. Maximum utilization of manpower.

Disadvantages

1. More temporary manpower. Manpower hired may take time to get through
the company goals and work practices.
