3. Explain briefly what the article is about in 5-10 sentences

In the workers in the shadows article, the author tells about human rights watch states that many
under age workers get abuse and exploitation. Most of under age workers employers dont tell
them about the task that they have to do, the work hour nor allow them attending school, they also
dont get much paid or even never get paid. The article also states that government see the workers
as helper not workers, so they dont really get that the under age workers got abuse or something.
The government seems doesnt take any action about this issue. The author states that the hotline of
abuse and exploitation often not answered. The government should make policy of under age
workers, as they must make contract letter to be signed by the workers before they working or clear
working hours and rest day. Police also have to change a bit. Even they have womens and childrens
unit, it doesnt help much. The author thinks if the government with police can stop the abuse and
exploitation of under age workers in Indonesia, they also can decrease the abuse and exploitation of
overseas Indonesian workers.

4. What is the authors purpose of writing this article?

The authors purpose is to tell us about there are thousands of under age workers in Indonesia who
get abuse and exploitation from their employers didnt helped by the government and police, they
look unwilling to stop this issue.

5. Give your personal comment on the article

I think this is good article. Article about human rights watch states gives us lessons that the
government must takes action about this issue, because children is the next generation of Indonesia.
If Indonesias next generation end in abuse and exploitation, who will lead Indonesia? And how
will they become?

Yes, I do. I think I can make the article better by combining how should we catch the meaning of
speech so that we can get the benefits. Beside that from the vocabulary subject, I can change the
difficult words with the similar meaning but it more clearly and easier to understand.
