The life of a Christian is a three step experience. We are all born in
Egypt, the land of sin. We are all called to forsake Egypt. All who chose to
follow Christ must go through the wilderness to get to Canaans land. The wil-
derness is the proving ground. It reveals whats in our hearts. The time in the
wilderness depends on our response to Christ! Canaans land is not where we are
free from troubles. It is where we begin to defeat the enemy. Its where we clean
house of the things that hinder us from serving Christ. It is where we conquer
the enemy or we leave things in our lives that are pricks and they hinder us from
enjoying where we live.

We are to be Overcomers! We overcome sin, as Moses did, by

choosing to suffer affliction with the children of God, rather than to enjoy
the pleasures of sin for a season.
Heb 11:24-27

Do You Believe in Miracles? I do!
God has always been gracious to us, but sometimes He works in
ways that take your breath away. Thats what He just did for us.
God has allowed us to live on the edge of the cliff since Jerry re-
tired. I can truthfully say I wasnt expecting it to be this way. We had all
intentions of Jerry working at something to supplement our social security.
Jerry retired on Sunday and went down with his heart on Monday. None
of us know about tomorrow. I would be glad to work a job, but physically
I cant be on my feet for any length of time. When we realized how it was
going to be, we just looked at each other and wondered how God was go-
ing to take care of us. We have always depended upon God, but we have
never had so little to add to the needs. It has now been over two and a
half years and God keeps taking us through each day, one day at a time.
We had three months house payments when Jerry retired and we knew we
could make it three months. That was a long time ago. We have had more
expenses, with things breaking, than we did when he was working. Its
been an amazing two and a half years.
I need to do some confessing before we go any further. I have
never resented where God has allowed us to be, but I have questioned why
He felt it necessary to try us this way again. We started out serving the
Lord giving all we had and praying down many answers to prayers. We
did not charge, we waited for God to supply. Everybody loves to hear how
God provided for our family. The stories are amazing, but living through
those stories were difficult at times. After many years of praying down
our daily bread, God gave us an abundance for a few years. We had never
experienced that and it really felt great. We didnt change our ways when
there was an abundance, we continued asking God to lead and direct our
paths. It looks today like we are going to leave this life just like we started
it, looking for daily miracles. If thats what God wants, I can do it. Do I
want to? No! I love giving. Its more blessed to give. It is hard to be on
the receiving end. We learned a long time ago not to tell man our needs
until God had already answered. I dont want to become a beggar, but if
I must beg, I will beg my Heavenly Father. After all, my Father owns it
all!!! After the miracle God did for us a couple of hours ago, I am at rest
with Him leaving us where we are. Finally, I am at rest. If God decides to
put us back to abundance, I wont complain, but until then I am at rest!
