Course Objecctives : After studying this course the students should be able to
- Understand the framework of the business research process.
- Develop an understanding of research design and techniques.
- Apply acquired theoretical knowledge to conduct basic research.
- Understand the use of basic descriptive and inferential statistics to draw inferences of the research area.
- Appreciate the components of scholarly writing and evaluate its quality.
Learning Outcomes
Business research is a systematic inquiry whose objective is to provide information to solve managerial problems. This three credit hours course is an
introduction on how to do business research with an emphasis on applied problem solving. It has a major focus on problem identification and analysis, problem
solving strategies and communication skills. Business research provides the information needed to make sound business decisions. It helps organizations
reduce the chance for costly errors in production, human resources, marketing, entering global markets, and strategic planning. The emphasis of this course is
to teach the student to become an effective consumer of business research.
