achieve as much as possible and put this gift to the best use possible. You are very
proud of your achievements. You are ready to stick by the people you care about
through thick and thin. You have a very healthy approach to life. The glass is (at

Pika (and Clarissa) / # 7: You are happy and unflappable. You are a very

[Yeah, I do believe that everybody has their own journey but I also believe
that many people's journey is stupid. Also, I know how to be non-
judgmental but I choose not to exercise that capacity often. As for the
rest, it's spot on about me.]

Thanks!! I didnt think you chose the same as I did though, because you
dont sound very similar to me. As for myself, I do actually worry a lot
(although I am also stress resistant, but worry and stress are two different
things) and not normally very relaxed. Hmmm, maybe the description is
about how I aspire to be rather than how I am now

SEPTEMBER 24, 2012 @ 4:03 PM

I chose #7 and I hardly think that describes me at all. I am capable of

listening sometimes, Im try to be non-judgemental to some degree, I
have tried to be more open to new people and events in recent years, but
I am not even close to stress-resistant and I worry all the time.

bloggerclarissa

SEPTEMBER 24, 2012 @ 4:06 PM

Maybe you should try being more judgmental to release the stress. :-)
Works for me, every time.

SEPTEMBER 24, 2012 @ 5:08 PM

I also picked seven and agree with understanding, sensitive, good

listener, and open to new people, but not so much with being worry-free
or resistant to stress. Im better at staying relaxed (or at least maintain
outward calm) when Im trying to keep others relaxed, though. I rarely let
myself lose my head.

9 (star-like tree)

7 (because of beautiful blue & white picture colors more than the tree
itself)

3 (reminds of a willow, if you look at those lines as bending willow

branches)

5 also stands out, but may be because its the only one with flowers and
reminds of cherry trees in Ukraine. :)

11. Three Types of Sales Managers The Best Intended Sales Manager
(<10%) Characterized by their willingness to invest their time .... Yet,
even with these best intentions, and the lack of important insights (other
than what has already happened) their coaching efforts are ineffective.
The Average Sales Manager ( 30%) Characterized by willingness to live
with the limited reports ... These coaches find themselves guessing
what the information means, and second guessing its accuracy. Not
surprisingly, these sales managers are ineffective coaches. The Less
Skilled Sales Manager (>60%) the less skilled sales manager may not
have the tools or the competencies to lead and coach a sales force. This is
due to many factors, including a lack of training, poor hiring, and... with
limited insights to the hidden problems of sales performance, these
managers do very little coaching and results suffer. all-too-common
practice of promoting great sales people thinking they will also be great

12. Common Manager Types 16

13. Suave & Detached Youre behind plan, but no help Cold &
judgmental Seems only to criticize Expects more, but no constructive
advice Focused more on his image than your growth Youre a
professional, you know what to do (but provides no coaching) 17

14. Nurse Ratched Im here to help you Talks the talk and adapts
practices but Insincere with ulterior motives Drives metrics at any
cost (mostly to you) Talks constructive, but is destructive = morale
Lures career development with veiled promises The best thing we can do
is go on with our daily routine. 18

15. The Feudal Lord fiefdom: Something over which one dominant person
or group exercises control Attitude: Youre here to serve me Cares
only about self-advancement Looks great in front of superiors, but
doesnt care about team development or Takes credit for your
accomplishments More focused on managing up, than managing
reportsWhat do we need to do to book these sales before end of

17. 7 Personality Traits of Top Salespeople1. Modesty: ostentatious

salespeople who are full of bravado alienate far more customers than
they win over2. Conscientiousness: strong sense of duty and being
responsible and reliable3. Achievement Orientation: performers seek to
understand the politics of customer decision-making4. Curiosity:
correlates to an active presence during sales calls5. Lack of
Gregariousness: overly friendly salespeople are too close to their
customers and have difficulty establishing dominance.6. Lack of
Discouragement: correlation between sports and sales success7. Lack of
Self-Consciousness: action-oriented and unafraid to call high in their
accounts Source: HBR Blog Network

A STUPID TEST
Marcos Yanez Works at Walmart Weslaco

Who ever wrote this question wrote it stupid on purpose or just cuz they are stupid. you don't add the dollar to the
98 you subtract it. you have 3 dollars plus the 97 for the shirt =100. so 50-1=49. 49 + 49 = 98. 97 for the shirt
plus your 1dollar = 98. no missing dollar just wrong equation. you owe them 98.

Reply 6 Like Follow Post February 8, 2013 at 12:32pm

Blake Buchanan Top Commenter

not very well explained... when you got the loan you owe your dad $50 and your mum $50. you buy the shirt and
get the $3 change. then give ya mum and dad $1 each. you now owe them $49 each. so in total you owe them
$98, you do not add the $1 on to that because you do not owe them $99

Reply 2 Like February 8, 2013 at 4:25pm

you sir Blake are wrong in the explanation and Marcos is right ... you owe them 97$ (shirt) + 1$ you have which
is 98 what Marcos said

For crying out loud this is a very old math question in games creation class. It's a con. The way the question is
asked you are supposed to think that there is a missing dollar, so you combine counting dollars that are there
with dollars that are missing. When you should just be counting where all the money is. 97 with the store, 1+1+1
with each person. It's isn't some kind of moron writing the question, its just a question of whether you can be
conned or not.

More like an accounting question than a math question. The math is trying to add apples to apples, take away
oranges and find the missing kumquat. The answer is as follows:

Activity Balance Explaination

Account: Mom
-50 (50) Initial Balance
+1 (49) Repayment of Debt

Account: Dad
-50 (50) Initial Balance
+1 (49) Repayment of Debt

Account: Kid Cash

+50 50 Borrowed on Account (Mom)
+50 100 Borrowed on Account (Dad)
-97 3 Kid Misc Expenses...See More

Of course one could argue that the shirt should be depreciated and there was no mention of whether or not that
dollar was placed in a bank account (and if so did it earn interest?) or if there were gas expenses for driving to
the store that must be written off. That would alter the numbers provided, but in terms of the transaction as
described this should be sufficient ;)

There is no missing dollar, you owe both of them $49.50(100-97=3, 3/2=1.5, you take.5 from both and you have
yourself a dollar) only a pure idiot would not get this simple maths equation,

basically he was saying that when it said 49 + 49 = 98 + your 1 = 99 isn't correct because the actual equation
would be 49 + 49 = 98 = THE EXTRA 2 = 99 there is no missing one, it's just confusing some people by bringing
up the own you keep instead of the 2 you owe

he technically owes each of them 48.50 considering that he gave them each a dollar back already and if you split
the dollar you took from both parents you'd be giving them 50 cents each. Then that would total your 100. :p

this would be true but he was trying to get too 100, so you still have to count the change

i did count the change, both 50 cents that are returned to each parent from the dollar you kept for yourself sum
up a total of $97, which is the base amount you're trying to get at since you have given back 2 and have kept 1
for yourself. where as what you said 49.50 to each would sum up 99 and you already gave them back 2 dollars
which would result in 101. so how is it that you are left with more than what you started off with? Do you see?

Oh for Pete's Sake. You have a dollar. You have a shirt worth 97 dollars. That means you have a net worth of 98
bucks, which is the combined amount you owe your parents after giving each of them a dollar. I am losing faith in
humanity.

Its the same as the three men who needed a hotel room for the night. the clerk tells the the room is $30. So each
man pays $10. Later the clerk decide to discount there room to $25. He tells the bellman to tak the $5 change up
to the men. The bell, not knowing an easy way to distribute $5 evenly decided to give each man $1 and keep two
for himself as a tip. now lets do the math: Each man after receiving their change paid $9 for the room. $9x3=$27.
Then add the $2 tip. $27+$2=$29. Where did the last dollar go?

This test is partially based on research by Dr. Max Lscher during the early 1900's. He has devoted his life
to the study of how color affects behavior and has been hired by some of the world's largest companies as
a consultant.

The test itself is based upon fundamentals in color psychology. With years of research by color
psychologists the characteristics of certain colors has been identified to cause an emotional response in
people. This was done by studying the response from hundreds of thousands of test subjects around the
world in order to isolate how certain colors make us feel. By doing the reverse, using the colors people
prefer to determine how people feel, we can get some interesting indicators about a person's current
emotional state.

It is important to understand that the results from tests like this can be both short-term and long-term in
their meaning. For example, if you are feeling depressed about something when you take the test you may
see this reflected in your results. You may also notice deeper conflicts showing themselves consistantly if
you take the test time and time again. This test can be taken quite often and still yield results that are
accurate. The results will not be the same each time you take the test, for the most part, unless you are
taking them without some time interval between them.

The test is widely used in Europe and overseas. There are very few experts of Luscher's work in the United
States, so for some of our American visitors the notions behind this test may seem rather strange...But give
the test a try and you will be surprised!

Is the test reliable? We leave that to your opinion. We can only say that there are a number of corporations
and colleges that use the Lscher test as part of their hiring/admissions processes. It can be a useful tool
for doctors and psychologists as well and is used to get a quick overview of potential issues patients may
have in their lives.

Please take the test and give it a try yourself!

Tes ini sebagian didasarkan pada penelitian oleh Dr Max Luscher selama
awal 1900-an .

Misalnya, jika Anda merasa tertekan tentang sesuatu ketika Anda

mereka .

Silakan mengikuti tes dan mencobanya sendiri !

Do you feel tranquilly calm when surrounded by green fields and

blue skies? Or perhaps slightly alarmed when staring at a red stop
sign?
Color has been known to have a powerful psychological impact on
people's behavior and decisions, and this knowledge has been
harnessed all too well by designers and marketers alike. Color can
often be the sole reason someone purchases a product where 93%
of buyers focus on visual appearance and almost 85% claim color
to be their primary reason for purchase!
How do Colors Influence People?
Red - Creates a sense of urgency, which is good for clearance
sales. Encourages appetite, thus is frequently used by fast-food
chains. Physically stimulates the body, raising blood pressure and
heart rate, associated with movement, excitement, and passion.
Blue - The preferred color of men. It's associated with peace,
water, tranquility, and reliability. Blue provides a sense of security,
curbs appetite, and stimulates productivity. The most common
color used by conservative brands looking to promote trust in their
products.
Green - Associated with health, tranquility, power, and nature.
Used in stores to relax customers and for promoting environmental
issues. Green stimulates harmony in your brain and encourages a
balance leading to decisiveness.
Purple - Commonly associated with royalty, wisdom, and respect.
Stimulates problem solving as well as creativity. Frequently used to
promote beauty and anti-aging products.
Orange & Yellow - Cheerful colors that promote optimism. Yellow
can make babies cry, while orange can trigger a sense of caution.
Used to create a sense of anxiety that can draw in impulsive
buyers and window shoppers.
Black - Associated with authority, power, stability, and strength.
Often a symbol of intelligence, but can become overwhelming if
used to frequently.
Grey - Symbolizes feelings of practicality, old age, and solidarity.
Too much grey can lead to feelings of nothingness and depression.
White - Associated with feelings of purity, cleanliness and safety.
Can be used to project an absence of color or neutrality. White
space helps spark creativity since it can be perceived as an
unaltered, clean state.
Properly Using Color Theory
Use contrasts to reduce eyestrain and allow readers to focus their
attention on specific items. Vibrancy can dictate the emotional
response users have to your design. For example, choosing
brighter colors can lead users to feel more energetic, which can
evoke better responses and reactions. But if your website is
information-intensive, you may that a darker color theme will
make it easier for readers to process all your data.
How are major brands using colors? McDonald's chooses high-
energy colors like red and yellow which appeal to children, kindle
appetites, and create a sense of urgency. Of course, Ronald
McDonald himself is popular with the kids, but he's also sure to
agitate parents quickly. This facilitates faster customer turnover.
It's scary to think how powerful this tactic has been for Micky D's,
which might not have been the same ridiculously big chain it is
today without using red and yellow so effectively. McDonald's sure
wouldn't be so popular trying to market all that unhealthy food
using the color green! Interestingly, the only major global brand to
use green as its primary color is Starbucks. Using green shows that
Starbucks hopes to promote a sense of relaxation in their cafes,
inviting customers to come in for a coffee break during a stressful
day.
How are you incorporating color into your branding and
marketing efforts?
