The course will be conducted every Friday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the IE
Computing Laboratory

2.0 Course Description


The course introduces the student to the principles, philosophies, and practices of
probability, statistical modelling, design of experiments and industrial quality control.

3.0 Course Credit: 3 units

4.0 Course Objectives


Upon completion of this course, the students are expected to:
4.1 Determine the probability distribution appropriate for a given set of data;
4.2 Describe population and samples using statistical indexes;
4.3 Prepare graphical and visual representations of populations and sample data for s;
4.4 Prepare basic statistical inference methods and procedures to estimate and infer
about population parameters;
4.5 Design and create statistically sound experiments given specific engineering
objectives; and
4.6 Create and analyze basic types of control charts
