To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing with regard to Alaika Louize Valera, a top student at El Capitan High School. Alaika is one
of the most exceptional, respectful students I have encountered in my ten years as a high school
counselor. I have experienced many examples of her exceptional talent, and I am impressed by her
continued work ethic. Currently as a senior, she keeps in contact, allowing me to observe her growth and
accomplishments in her last year at El Capitan. Due to her notable knowledge and abilities, I am confident
she will continue to accomplish great success.

Alaika is well regarded by her peers and other teachers, and is also active in several school clubs
at El Capitan High School and volunteers her time in several community organizations. With all this
taking a great deal of time and effort Alaika still finds time to be a top student at El Capitan High School
regardless of what is on her plate. She currently has a 4.27 GPA and she is on track to get straight As at
end of 1st semester. One of Alaika's greatest strengths is her ability to see the big picture. She has
created her own path and planned out her education, a quality that many students lack when preparing to
enter college. During our meetings she has expressed the desire to be a lawyer since the first time we
spoke during her freshman year, a goal that I can see her attaining with her drive and positive attitude.

Throughout the school year, she provided positive encouragement, listened to her fellow classmates, and
helped them in any capacity that she could. As a person, Alaika is a kind, caring, friendly individual. She
has been able to masterfully balance between her academics, sports, and community service. She gets
along with everyone; cares about others and her personal academic achievements are outstanding. Alaika
has challenged herself academically every year taking two to three AP or honors classes. Along with her
academics and volunteer work Alaika is team captain for varsity tennis team and had the distinction of
being nominated for Girls State and RYLA. Her energy, positive attitude, and team spirit continually lead
the team and motivate them to work harder. Even with sports and academics consuming Alaikas life she
still has time to lead others by being an academic mentor and helping academically struggling students at
El Capitan High School.

I would highly recommend Alaika Louize Valera as a motivated, knowledgeable young lady who
will succeed in any task she is entrusted to complete. Alaika has demonstrated through her hard work and
determination that she is worth of any scholarship that she applies for. If I can provide further
information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
