ABSTRACT

Regions in the study area is the area of offices, industry and trade . Procurement provision of an
infrastructure facility with conditions that are not well-maintained , such as the pedestrian
walkways and greening , can cause the function and quality of an area decreases . To overcome
these problems , it needs regional quality improvement efforts in order to maintain the typical
characteristics that will be owned and able to give new vitality to the area. Leisure pedestrians
should be supported with adequate facilities and infrastructure.

This study aims to identify the comfort of pedestrians on the sidewalk in Jalan Raya Pajajaran
Bogor City. Goal of this research are: (1) Identify existing conditions and the volume of
pedestrians along Jalan Raya Pajajaran Bogor City; (2) Identify the user's perception of the
sidewalk and toward comfort sidewalk along Jalan Pajajaran Bogor City. The research method
used is the method of collection is the study of literature, survey agencies, observations and
inferences made comparisons with observations of the respondent's perception. The research

method of calculating the level of comfort of pedestrians on the sidewalk in view of the six
variables, circulation, size and shape, safety, noise, cleanliness and beauty. Descriptive analysis
method are obtained from field survey and photograph besides using government regulation as the
reference standard method of policy analysis conducted Kepmen Highways No. 032 / T BM 1999
and using the standard service level LOS (level of service) according to the Highway Capacity
Manual ( HCM 2000).

The results showed that: (1). volume pedestrian zone 1 on holiday (1459) and weekday (1081),
Zone 2 on holiday (2847) and weekday (2128), while Zone 3 on holiday (3170) and weekday
(4129) by Standard Level services (level of service) HCM 2000, in zone 1 gained an average of
1.65 (on holidays) pedestrian / meter / min and 1.9 (weekdays), zone 2 gained an average of 3.96
(on holidays) and 2:32 (weekdays) whereas in zone 3 obtained an average of 3:34 (holiday) and
5:56 (weekdays) then all three zones will be included in this type of LOS "A" which means the
availability of sufficient area to freely choose the running speed, circulating among pedestrians
smoothly so that the conflict is hardly possible.

(2). From the analysis of descriptive method of making criteria often appear (Score Mode) to the
perceptions of respondents about the comfort level of pedestrians in the three zones can be
concluded that the zone I of the respondents said less comfortable, in zone 2 of the respondents
said less comfortable and in zone III of respondents said less comfortable making observations
support each other with the opinion of the respondents.
