Homework Hive video

Thoughts on Nate Bush doing a feature segment on Homework Hive to improve
attendance.
Dept was in favor of this as long as the requirements (Not for AP kids) were made clear.
Encourage attendance w/ snacks and NHS peer tutors.
Would it be possible to look into a late run for transportation. The reason some kids do
not attend is because they dont have a ride home.

Conferences:
Lori Chaput and Kim Munn will be located in Loris office if you or parents are looking
for them.

MS/HS Transition Dates:

About 50-55 incoming 9th graders.
Look at using the Feb. Early release day to meet w/ MS staff for 8th grade transition mtg.

Items from Molly:

FAPE
Do not send home the NOTICE PAGE of our offer of FAPE with a draft IEP. This can be
perceived that we have already predetermined placement/programming prior to IEP.

Holding IEPs 2 weeks in advance of the 364 day due date is a good practice to get into.
This way if we have a contentious IEP, we have a few days to go back and forth w/ the
parent to make changes to the IEP and be sure the NOTICE PAGE of FAPE has been
given to the parent within 364 days of the last IEP. If the NOTICE PAGE of FAPE is not
given to the parent within 364 days of the IEP, the IEP is out of compliance.

REEDs
Documentation is needed that an invite to participate in the REED was provided to the
parent. You DO NOT have to have an additional mtg. A phone conversation can be done
in lieu of a meeting. However, you will need to go into Tienet and use the form
Invitation to Attend a Meeting and attach this to the REED the parent signs. The date
on this form and the REED can be the same. No sign page for attendance is needed.
MRS Email
Please attach a copy of the email you send to MRS to invite them to a students IEP,
along with the Consent to Invite Agency and the Invitation for the IEP. Do this for CMH
as well.
