ADVANCED RECTANGLE PNEUMATIC WIRE

FORMING MACHINE

SYNOPSIS

Our project is to fabricate an advanced rectangle pneumatic wire forming

machine. Since the pneumatic concepts are fast enough they are widely used in

industries for time saving purposes. This is the main reason why we choose

pneumatic concept in rectangle wire forming machine. Our project is an effective

way to form wire in a rectangular shape. Our model consists of four pneumatic

cylinders, solenoid valves, pressing die and stopper.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

In advanced pneumatic wire forming machine four pneumatic

cylinders are placed in different angles. These cylinders are mounted in a base

frame. These cylinders get the supply from the air compressor. The direction of the

air flow is controlled by the solenoid valve. When the air is supplied to the front

end of the cylinder the piston retracts and when the air is allowed to pass to the rear

end then the piston moves front. Thus the forward and return stroke takes place.

This operation can be used in four places in the above model. The entire cylinders

are used for pressing purpose. When the rod is ready for the process first
pneumatic cylinder is actuated. Because of the above action, the two sides of the

rod is bended to a certain angle. After the completion of above process the two

cylinders which are placed either side of the work piece is actuated. A pressing tool

is attached at the end of the piston rod. So when these pressing tools press the rod

again, the rod further bends to a certain angle. The remaining part of the rod can be

bended by the last pneumatic cylinder which is placed between the 2nd and 3rd

cylinders. At last the 4th cylinder is also actuated to complete the whole process.

When the last cylinder is actuated the reaming part of the rod is bended fully. This

forms in a rectangular shape. Hence the name of the model is rectangle pneumatic

wire forming machine.
