Provide IT consulting with specialized expertise in business continuity and disaster recovery
planning for large data center operations.
Representative BC / DR Projects:

• Wolters Kluwer Corporation (5 months 2008-2009): Project manager for a major international
fortune 500 company. To review the company production mission critical systems that were identified from
a full-scale assessment. Computer and telecommunication recovery resources were stored at an
outsourced facility for recovery capability processing if a critical failure occurred.
• Created mission critical recovery plans and methodology. Coordinated business continuity plans and
identifies short-term solutions. Develop scope and requirements for applications and business area
involvement. Work with teams within IT and business areas. Initiate subprojects and identify alternative
solutions for addressing applications recovery capability.
• United Airlines Corporation (9 months 2007-2008): Project manager for a major fortune 500
company. To review and address vulnerabilities in the company mission critical system that was identified
from a full-scale assessment after the high priority application system suffered a critical failure. The
assessment identified 34 vulnerability areas.
• Review identified vulnerabilities. Help develop BC plans and identify short-term solutions. Develop scope
and requirements for applications and business area involvement. Work with teams within ISD and business
areas. Initiate subprojects and identify alternative solutions for addressing applications vulnerabilities and
present cost of those alternatives. Gather and vent different viewpoints on cost, options and
recommendations.

• Health Care Service Corporation (6 months 2007): Project manager for


development of a Request for Proposal document that provided Disaster Recovery (DR)
solution and support services necessary to support a DR Declaration for HCSC’s Data
Center. HCSC decided to issue this RFP in order to solicit proposals that will lead to the
selection of a vendor or vendors capable of providing the desired solution and
associated services at competitive rates. HCSC anticipated the DR sourcing
arrangement it would cover the equipment, data, software and services needed to
support the migration of all DR Critical work to the DR Environment given a disaster
declaration.
• The DR coverage established as a result of this arrangement was considered an
interim step in a strategic plan that included the establishment of a second HCSC Data
Center (Second Site). To achieve its recovery objectives, HCSC required that some
portion of its DR environment must be provisioned with equipment that was dedicated
to HCSC. This equipment supports the near real-time asynchronous replication of
critical data to DASD that resides in the DR environment site. HCSC's primary objective
was to establish a procurement arrangement for a DR solution that would support
HCSC’s technical requirements:

New York City School Construction Authority (6 months 2006): Project managed an analysis
of the business impact of possible component failure analysis within a LAN/WAN server
facility for a governmental service organization. Review encompassed environmental power
issues and recovery-time objects of corporate business units. Presented the review to
management.
• Directed business impact analysis (BIA) for several business units.
• Directed business impact analysis (BIA) for workflow processes and data center
recovery.
• Identified Vendors for Work Area and Co-location resources services.
• Evaluated financial, legal, and business impacts of delayed IT service to field
operations and Vendors.
• Identified and prioritized all applications and data for future recovery activity.
• Review current data center for Infrastructures issues and capabilities.

Iridian Technologies (2001-2006): Project managed an analysis of the business impact of


possible component failure analysis within a global LAN/WAN for a biometrics
hardware/software corporation. Review encompassed environmental power issues and
recovery-time objects of corporate business units. Presented the review to management.
• Lead development of recovery plans for a corporate data center and business
units.
• Serve as a resource for the client’s support staff for data center and security
concerns.
• Highly successful ongoing project enabling corporation’s first entry into security
software and related products.

BP-AMOCO Corporation (8 Months / 2000): Headed team that selected, installed, and
implemented an automated software product for disaster recovery and business continuity
processes for a major petrochemical company (LDRPS).
• Member of the project team challenged with evaluating worldwide data centers
for vendor support issues, service level agreement (SLA) performance, and customer
satisfaction levels.
• Directed business impact analysis (BIA) for several business units.

Brown and Williamson (5 months / 1997): Installed and implemented business unit recovery
methodology for a manufacturing conglomerate.

• Collaborated with international teams to resolve data transfer and other issues

Bacomer De Mexico (6 months / 1998): Piloted relocation of the data center to a new facility
for a large financial services corporation.

TRW Corporation (7 months / 1997): Project managed the full lifecycle for the largest data

relocation of hardware and 800,000-volume tape library to a new data center for a leading

SIC (3 months / 1996): Prepared data center migration plan for an outsourcing service

data center design and construction, relocation, and implementation.

Heller Corporation (14 months / 1991): Led design, implementation, and migration to a new

• Orchestrated a highly complex relocation of the data center with global online
