I am going to open the water table during free play in the
classroom. 4 children will be allowed at the water table at a
time.
Objectives:
1. The children will further develop their aesthetic skills through
the enjoyment of sensory experiences.
2. The children will continue to enhance their social skills by
working together and sharing at the water table.
3. The children will continue to develop their cognitive skills by
using critical thinking skills.
Materials:
- 1 Water bin
- Assorted water toys that are included at the water bin
- Green food colouring to add to the water
- 1 Pack of 4 leaf clovers with alphabet and numbers written
on each
- 1 Pack of St. Patricks Day Sequences
- 4 Smocks
Implementation:
1. I will explain to the children that since we will not be here on
St. Patricks Day, we will get to play at the water table today
instead.

- The children really enjoyed the sensory experience. The
children automatically realized that the 4 leaf clovers had
letters and numbers written out on them and began
searching through the water for other letters. The children
also liked that there were a lot of bubbles and that the
water was green.
Friday. We did not have enough free play time for all of the
children to have a turn and because March was was the
following week, the water table had to be emptied.
- In the future, I would open this centre on a Monday, so the
children have more time to play with it and more children
get a chance.
