JIRI, DOLAKHA BHIMSENSTHAN, KALINCHOWK VISIT : CITIZENS COLLEGE : VTH

SEMESTER

FOUR DAYS PROGRAM

Itinerary:

Day 1 Departure from CITIZENS college premises; Participant students report to


college at 11:30 am. Departure 12:00 noon. Reach Jiri at 8:00 pm. Check-
in hotel, room allocation, dinner.

Day 2 Breakfast 7:00 am


Briefing session on Jiri and its economic importance Jiri Community Hall;
Speakers Local dignatories.
Lunch 12:00 noon
1:00 pm to 5:00 pm - Visit Rang Rangeshwar and Dhungeshwar Shiva
temples; visit Boudha Sthupa. Plain land trakking on jungle tarrain
Cycling and scrolling around - evening
8:00 pm Dinner

Day 3 Breakfast 7:00 am


8:00 am Start of trekking to Yak Cheese Factory, Cherdung Hills, Jiri
11:00 am Reach Yak Cheese Factory
11:00 am to 11:30 am Relaxation break
11:30 am Cheese factory briefing session: Mr. Lalit Jirel, Center-Chief, Jiri
Cheese Factory, Cherdung Hills.
12:30 pm Trekking down to Jiri valley from Chordung hills.
1:00 pm Lunch
3:00 pm Visit Jireshwari Mahadev Temple.
Evening Shopping (Yak Cheese, Organic Tea, Churpi)
9:00 pm Dinner.

Day 4 Breakfast 4:30 am


Departure from Jiri 5:00 am
8:00 am Reach Dolakha for Bhimsensthan Darshan
9:00 am Leave for Kalinchowk
11:00 am Reach Kalinchowk
11:00 am to 1:00 pm Kalinchowk
2:00 pm Lunch en route
4:30 pm Khari Chaur (Mini Khasa Market) : short halt for shopping
8:00 pm - Kathmandu

Cost (total package)

RS.4700 PER STUDENT (cost all inclusive Kathmandu to Kathmandu; Arniko


transportation hired mini buses for 4 days; Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner 2 nd & 3rd days;
Breakfast and Lunch 4th day; 2 nights stay at Jiri; Dolakha Bhimsensthan Darshan,
Kalinchowk visit). All meals, both lunch and dinner, shall be non-veg.
Note: The buses are 30 seaters. So the number of participants should be either 25 or 50.
With number in between, the cost per student shall increase.

Important points to remember:

1. Since it is night bus journey through the hills, all participants are advised to wear
warm protective clothes, preferably with a thermo inner ware.

2. Students must carry small pocket torch, an extra small shoulder bag for carrying
snacks and water during trekking, and common emergency medicines.

3. In Jiri all our visits will be on foot, including a trekking up-hill of around 3 hours for
the Cheese factory; all students are advised to be in comfortable jeans, and
sports shoes. Shorts may be used during trekking.

4. All students must carry their college ID cards without fail.

5. Students are advised to capture moments of this visit in all relevant situations in
their cameras. This is because there has to be a photo-display in the college wall
on your Jiri visit after you return. The photo display shall have to be planned,
coordinated, and displayed by the students themselves. In this context, the
creativity of the students shall be observed!

6. The purpose of our visit is observation, information collection, and obviously


having fun. But the spirit of enjoyment must not be spoilt by misconduct or non-
disciplinary act of any kind. Students are advised to refrain from any sort of
misbehavior or non-disciplinary activities during the entire tour.
