Halar: Halar ECTFE, a copolymer of ethylene and chlorotrifluoroethanol, is a partially

fluorinated and semi-crystalline processed polymer, which is marketed by Solvay.

It is available in different grades specifically designed as an electrostatic powder coating.

It is also particularly suitable for being used as a coating material and corrosion protection
thanks to its unique combination of properties:

- Very good chemical and thermal resistance

- Optimum permeability resistance
- Excellent flame resistance
- Very good surface characteristics
- Surface softness
- Purity
The primary applications of Halar or ECTFE coatings are chemical reactors, storage tanks of
chemicals, piping systems, centrifuges, agitators, hoods, filters and electroplating equipment.

Hyflon: Nonstick coating range marketed by Solvay and primary formed by two types:

- Hyflon AD, a particular amorphous perfluoropolymer for applications and

semiconductor membranes with high-temperature stability, good chemical resistance,
excellent hydrophobicity, very low surface energy, constant low dielectric, high gas
permeability, and with outstanding optical properties. Hyflon AD is used in the
production of follicles for electronics (microlithography) and is suitable for conducting
membranes in gas separation.
- Hyflon PFA & MFA, fully fluorinated semicrystalline fluoropolymers and melt
processable. They have the highest thermal properties and exhibit the highest
chemical resistance of all commercial fluoropolymers, as they can be processed in the
melt. They are available in granules, powders and dispersions. They also provide a
unique set of properties to be able to meet extreme performance: resistance at very
low temperatures, inherent flame resistance, chemical inertness, low surface energy,
exceptional dielectric properties and excellent mechanical properties.

Hylar: The Hylar coatings are marketed by Solvay and are formed by a balance of physical
properties that qualify it for a high-performance service in a wide range of applications.

The Hylar PVDF coatings have the inherent stability of fluoropolymers when exposed to
thermal, chemical and ultraviolet hard environments. Among its features, we can find the
following ones:

- Stability at temperatures up to 316C

- Excellent chemical resistance
- Excellent weatherproofing
- Suitable for coating metal and fabric laminates or fibre reinforced.
Regarding its applications, such coatings are suitable for non-architectural coatings such as
chemical processing equipment, automotive undersides, fasteners and applications of brake
hoses or for industries where exposure to highly corrosive chemicals and high temperatures
is standard.
Ilaflon: Coatings range marketed by ILAG, with different versions depending on the type
of fluoropolymer that contains:

- Ilaflon Professional R-600, the unique properties of PFA and the ceramic
reinforcement in the two-layer structure ensure a long life for this product mainly used
for coating tools employed in the baking industry.
- Ilaflon Professional R-500, this system combines the active properties of Ilaflon
Resist R with the unique non-stick properties of FEP. The bilayer ceramic
reinforcement ensures its life.
- Ilaflon Triplus, unique triple ceramic coating PTFE reinforced and with excellent
release properties (high abrasion resistance and good stain resistance).
- Ilaflon Resist R Plus, a universal system with PTFE-based solvents that is primarily
used for baking. It is high chemical and stain resistant, with excellent non-stick
properties, even when used continuously.
- Ilaflon Select R-500, universal FEP basecoat with a single layer system.
- Ilaflon Select SP-700, excellent silicone coating for use in production through
industrial ovens.
- Ilaflon Resist S-100, especially recommended system for the production of sweet
cakes and all kinds. It has excellent non-stick properties and a high gloss and
completely safe finishing when introduced in a dishwasher.
