Series rules for competitors

PCA Events Team

All decisions on any aspect of the competition including the rules will be settled by the PCA Events
Team and their decision is final. By entering the competition each competitor automatically agrees
to abide by all of these rules and accepts the authority of the PCA Events Team over all aspects of
the competition.

Competitor Requirements
The competition will be run under the Rules of Golf as laid down by the Royal and Ancient
Golf Club of St Andrews.
The competition is for amateur golfers who are invited to play by the PCA. The minimum age
requirement for entry into the PCA Golf Series is 18 years of age on 1st January 2017.
Players may enter more than one golf day.
It will not be possible for a competitor to take a guest or partner to the PCA Golf Series Final.
It will not be possible to qualify for the 2017 Golf Series finals if you have qualified and
attended in any of the last three years (2014, 2015, 2016)

Handicap Categories
The maximum handicap for entry to the tournament is 28 for men and 36 for ladies. Guests will be
divided into handicap categories as follows:

0 to 6
7 to 13

All the above handicap categories are based on of each players official handicaps. The qualifiers
for the PCA Golf Series Final will be the top three individuals who have scored the highest stableford
points based on handicaps in four different handicap categories in any round in the 2017 PCA Golf
Series.

Strokes will be taken according to the card of the course. Ladies should play from the ladies tees but
take their shots and calculate points according to the mens card. Additional ladies courtesy shots
will be given according to the difference in the mens and ladies SSS. In the event of a tie for any
position, the result will be decided upon a countback of the last 9, 6, 3, 1 holes of the card.

All competitors in the 2017 PCA Golf Series must be a member of a recognised golf club and hold an

current handicap and must have been validated by their club secretary or other relevant authority
within one month prior to the relevant competition date. Failure to do so may result in the players
score not counting. Golf Society handicaps or inactive (i) handicaps will not be admissible.
Distance Measuring Devices
A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. If, during a
stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is also designed to gauge or
measure other conditions that might affect their play (e.g. gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.),

In the event of any dispute regarding the rules, conduct or the results of a competition the decision
of PCA will be final.

PCA competitions are not open to staff of PCA (be they employees or contractors), their immediate

disqualify them from receiving any prize.

Some competitions may require entrants to take part in a programme in order to win the prize.
Where this is required and where an entrant fails to take part as required or takes part but fails a
subsequent test of skill which is required to win the prize, that contestant will be deemed to have
forfeited their opportunity to win the prize and will be disqualified from the competition.

Acceptance of the prize constitutes permission to use the relevant winner's name and likeness for
purposes of advertising, promotion or publicity in any media without additional compensation and
prize winners agree to take part in such related promotional activities as PCA and/or the promoter(s)
may require.

PCA reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend a competition and/or vary
competition rules at any time without prior notice.

Neither PCA nor its agents accept any responsibility whatsoever for any death, injury or other
damage, loss, expense or liability arising as a result of taking a prize. Nor will PCA have any liability or
responsibility for any claim arising in connection with participation in any PCA competition or any of
the prizes rewarded.

Any person found to be in disregard of these rules will be disqualified automatically. PCA reserves
the right to disqualify any contestant for any reason whatsoever in its sole discretion.

Participation in PCA competitions denotes acceptance of these terms and conditions and any
additional competition specific terms and conditions which may be advertised.

In the event of a tied score in respect of the progression of any contestant and/or selection of
winner, PCA's shall be entitled to eliminate a contestant and/or select the winner in whatever
manner PCA decide. This decision will be final and conclusive and no correspondence will be entered
into.
