SUBJECT DESCRIPTION
This subject is considering in theories and concepts of psychology, personality, motivation, and
behavior related to job or professional activities, tourism, and environment as well as cross
cultural.
Then, it will be also describe theories and concepts of sociology, group, community, model of
sociological approach and behavior. In addition, theories and concepts of communication,
inculturitation, belief, value, norm, ethnic and culture are also the focus of topics in this course.
The application of theories, concepts in health care and professional activities such as health
belief models, health seeking behavior, lifestyle and their influences into health status.
Learning activities will be starting with lecture of concepts or theories and following by
student activities such as discussion, problem solving in the tutorial class regarding application
in the daily professional activities.

OBJECTIVES
After completing this topic, the students will be able to:
1. Understand concepts of psychology related to health care and practice
2. Understand concepts of personality in health care and practice
3. Understand concepts of sociology in health care and practice
4. Understand concepts of cultural in health care and practice
5. Describe concept and theory of communication in delivering daily health service
6. Apply concept of health-ill and knowledge from various psycho, social cultural into
health care
7. Provide understanding about life style in accordance with health care
8. Develop professional commitment of physiotherapy very influence of self reflective
process to reach target of professional practice and evaluation in health service.
ATTENDANCE
All students are obliged to attend lecturing 75% from all lecturing. It is expected that
students will attend all tutorials and group discussion. Students are obliged to attend group
seminar, tutorial, and other related activities. If absent to attend, the student must be provide
self presentation. In the event of a missed session, it is the students responsibility to make
appropriate arrangements with their tutor to make up missed session/s. This will involve the
student putting some thought into how they might fulfill the requirements of the missed session
and then putting forward a proposal to the tutor. The make up work will be in the students own
time. Work must be completed and accepted by the tutor prior to the end of the semester.

Supplementary work, or the opportunity to resubmit presented work, may be provided at the
discretion of the Subject Examiner, in the case where submitted work or the overall subject grade
fails to meet a satisfactory level of achievement. Supplementary work for failure of the overall
subject will only be given in instances where such failure is within 5% of a passing grade (i.e.
borderline). Furthermore, such re-submission or supplementary work can only upgrade the mark
to a pass or satisfactory work. In other words, students may be given the opportunity at the
