the course/module in the This course deals with various vegetable oil processing and refinery
programme :
This course discusses the general view of vegetable oil production in the world, characteristics of
vegetable oil and usage of the oil. Extraction and refining methods also discusses here to give
Synopsis
better understanding the types of extraction and the refining losses as well as the waste
management of each vegetable oil produced.
Course Outcomes (CO) : By the end of this course, students will be able to:

1. Explain the production of four major vegetable oil productions in the world and available
process for vegetable oil extraction and refining .
2. Explain soy bean oil composition, extraction and refining, oil composition modification,
physical characteristic, quality and uses.
3. Explain palm oil composition, extraction and refining, physical characteristics and uses.
4. Explain rape seed oil composition, extraction and refining, physical and chemical
properties and uses.
5. Explain sunflower seed oil composition, extraction and refining, physical and chemical
properties and uses.
6. Review waste utilization and environmental management vegetable in oil processing
