Reflection

Phonics is important for students to learn because children will learn the letters and sound of
the letters. In this day, I went early to my school to prepare for the lesson. the lesson was at 8:30.
After students came back to the classroom. I let them jump from 1 to 10, then said the prayer
before they inter into the classroom. In the classroom students staked their name and sited on the
circle (halakha). I does the circle time (take students attendance, date, day and weather) after that
students eat dates.
Then I taught students letter d the lesson was a revision of letter d. first of all I engaged
students by a video about letter d, then I let the student explore the video, students were focused
and enjoy, to improve that I should let students sing with video and involved because children
will learn like that. Students explored the letter and most of them said letter d and the objects that
start with letter d. after the explanation I does group activities and the first activities were I put
different letters on the mat and students found letter d and said the sound of the letter. The
second activity students write letter d on the sand and the last activity was a flash card game that
means I put different objects that start with letter d on the board and let students read it after that
I let them close their eyes and see which object is missing.
All activities it works because most of the students know the sound of the letter, the sound of
the letter d and the objects that start with letter d. Also, I always remind the students the rules of
the mat or activities time and encourage them because this way students will have, I will manage
them in the correct way and students will learn. After the whole group activities were small
group activities. The first group was children designed the letter d by different materials, also when
they created the designed they said the sound of the letter d. The second group was pupils had a small
card and they said the sound of the letter, created the letter and wrote it. The third and last activity was
children had a worksheet and they found an upper case and lower case of letter d, then they colored the
dinosaur that they had it on their sheet. All the activities were useful and connected with art. Students
learn different things from one activity. For example, at the sound activity students learned the sound of
the letter, which they can write and design it.
I closed my activities by the bell, most of the students know if they listen the bell is time to clean up. It
works because it manages my time and students know how to be organized. I assessed students by asked
them some questions about the lesson. the lesson was nice and students enjoyed and proud at their self. I
hope to be better next time.
