(age 3-9) and Covies (age 10-18). Children leave for these before the reading

Church Café
Contrary to what was originally announced, there will now be a Church Café both this week
and next, 21 and 28 July. Enjoy.
After School Club
The last session of After School Club this term will be on Thursday 22 July. The club will
re-open on 9 September.
Sharing Jesus at the Heart of Stockport
There is an open meeting on Friday 23 July 12.30-1pm to
explore supporting and extending town-centre Christian
witness through St Mary in the Marketplace. A free lunch will
be provided but to order it contact Rob Munro on 428 8573
Celebration of the Third Age
A special service with guest speaker, Mary Kessler, and an
emphasis on the joys and challenges of later life. Please do
come along and bring others – flyer are available in the foyer.

Gift for Zoe
In a few weeks time Zoe will be leaving St Cuthbert’s having now successfully completed
her Nazarene College Youth Ministry degree as noted last week. Over the three years she
has been here, Zoe has made a very significant contribution on a wholly voluntary basis and
we owe her a great deal. If you would like to contribute to a leaving present, please pass
your donation to one of the Church Warden’s.
Children’s & Youth Work
We have a number of important decisions to make over the next few weeks concerning the
way we resource and run our work amongst young people, particularly with regard to Covie
age children on Sunday mornings. Although, every year at this time we have to re-evaluate,
this time it takes on added significance because after the summer we will be without Iain
and Zoe who are moving on and Ruth who will shortly be retiring to concentrate on pastoral
work. This will leave only Gary (& Jacob) to work with the Covie age group.
St Cuthbert’s, Birkby, Huddersfield
Mike says, ‘Support them & support me….’ St Cuthbert’s is a
small, but active church with a multi-racial congregation in an
area of spiritual and physical need. Help is urgently required
with works on the roof totally over £200K, though a large grant
has been received making the remaining target of £80K
achievable. On 08 August, I am taking part in the London
Triathlon (swim 1.6K; cycle 40K; run 10K) on their behalf.
